Simple process junking at American Metal Transfer. Go on scale they get your weight, a light turns green I find guys on the yard they help me get unloaded or at least tell me where my scrap needs to go. Then I return to the scale to get weighed out. I weigh my steel first( meaning go across the scale to go in and go out), If I have aluminum or really anything other then steel, I will get off the scale and go to their "back building" to have them weigh that unless the guys tell me differently. Go inside building and get paid. Everything is Straight forward.If I bring in a Vehicle I make sure to have the title, drivers license available and I also take the tires out when I go. I have had no problem with getting someone on the phone to give me accurate prices per pound.

I have never gotten slayed so hard as I had by this place. They have gotten over on me by a couple pounds but this will be the last time I ever do business with this outfit again. Total rip-off. Not just talking a pound or two. Did not even get half of what I should have gotten. they took total advantage of the fact that I'm a woman. take totalbusiness with these people or you will get screwed. Easy metal drop off, just like the other guy says. Just drive over the scale on the way in and the way out then go in to get paid. Copper and aluminum get weighed at a smaller scale further on the loop. Not sure if they were good prices or not but I was happy to get 86 bucks for a trailerload of junk from my backyard! Easier than taking it to the dump.
