We had an issue with our truck where kerosene was accidentally added instead of unleaded gas, and we needed to have the fuel tank drained. We called in and tow truck arrived within the hour, which wasn’t so bad. But once we got to the garage, it was a stressful and drawn-out experience. Several mechanics tried for hours to figure out how to remove the fuel, using different pipes (thin, wide, etc.), and at one point even lit the end of a pipe on fire to try to siphon the kerosene. It was chaotic to watch and didn’t inspire confidence. We were there for almost 4 or 5 hours. Employees were leaving and we were still sitting there with our dog. In the end, they did manage to remove half of the fuel, but we were charged over $500 because we were billed for every hour they spent “figuring it out.” If you’re charging hourly for a service, at least and have proper tool and know how to perform that service without using trial and error. Perhaps they are not recommended for specialized jobs. I’m giving 2 stars because despite being unprepared and not having proper tools, the staff fixed our problem. While my husband recognized the staff’s efforts, as I do, it doesn’t change our full experience. Interestingly enough while initially admitting my feedback, they changed their response to blame the customer. Accountability is appreciated.

Don Orall's was a savior for my daughter when she was traveling upstate, I felt as a mom there was nothing I would be able to do when I called Don, they were so kind and helpful, they were able to tow my daughter home, and fix her car. Absolutely recommend them to anyone. They treat you like family up there - peace of mind was priceless; but the prices were reasonable and fair to boot! Thank you guys again...

Had to be towed due to tire getting shredded on the highway just east of Hancock. Was given the run around by insurance for hours despite them knowing we had three kids in the car with us. Luckily we found Don Oralls Garage and the owner, George, picked up the phone even though they were listed as closed. Almost everyone else was closed or didn't have the tire we needed. He was so helpful and was able to (for a fee) arrange to get the tire earlier the next day while everyone else just said they didn't have it and couldn't get it. He even gave a hotel suggestion when it became obvious that we would have to spend the night. My family and I are so grateful for his kindness, communication and expertise. I'd also like to mention Pat, who provided the eventual tow, was kind and efficient, and even dropped me at the hotel on the way to the garage. I hope no one else gets stranded on the side of the highway for hours like we did, but if you're anywhere close to Hancock, NY, absolutely call Don Oralls Garage. They will take good care of you and your car.
