I am new to Gloucester and was referred to Bobby’s Auto by a buddy of mine. I am very glad that I was. My first impression of the place was how amazingly clean and well maintained everything was! I was actually compelled to take a picture. From the lobby and bathroom, to the spotless garage where they work. I am a neat freak (ask my very patient wife) and this was one of the most well kept garages I have experienced in my 62 years. Chris and Amanda in front are very helpful and knowledgeable; a pleasure to deal with. The pricing is the most reasonable I have seen in a while, and I am very pleased. I saw the owner Bobby in action with his customers, explaining clearly what and how the work was done, as he was right in the thick of the repairs himself. I’m sure I will have the pleasure of meeting him soon for more automotive service for my vehicles. All in all, I would recommend Bobby’s Auto for your auto needs, as I was very satisfied with my experience.

I went for an inspection and estimate on repairs. They were very helpful. I'm almost 80 and know nothing about cars. Great experience. Unfortunately, I have to go back because my air conditioning went out.

Took my vehicle here for years. The owner seems extremely nice and honest. However, several years ago I had my oil changed and when I checked it later after my car had cooled off, the oil mark was several inches above the cold mark on the dip stick. I drove my car for a couple of days, then I idled it and when I started down the road a little my car sounded like it exploded. I knew what the problem was, but I didn't have the money for a new transmission, so I drove it for several months. At the next inspection they told me that it wasn't drivable and it would take 2 or 3 days to get a new one. I sold them the car. We saw someone driving it around the next day. I love my newer car, but back in 2022 I had to replace the battery because it was ten years old. At the time I was suspicious because I swore that I had either had a brand new battery or purchased one shortly after I purchased the car in 2018. They showed me the battery, the date on it was 2012. Several months ago I took my car to a different mechanic for an oil change and to look at an issue with a tire that I had been having for months. Bobby's kept telling me that it was the change in weather and that if I continued to have a problem they would check the valve stem, that is something that should have been checked after the first several times I had them look at it. The new mechanic found the problem, they also found fluid that was caked up on a part under my hood that looked like it was months old. At the end of the repair they told me that my battery was 7 years old. I hadn't even had my car 7 years at this point. After the repairs my car acted brand new and the steering wheel no longer shakes as soon as I hit 70. My check engine light has been coming on periodically since I got this vehicle as well, Bobby's acted like it was no big deal. The new mechanic finally saw the check engine light on, and not only has he explained it better to me and how it could damage my vehicle, but he also says that it should be fixed. They have lost my business as well as several of my family member's business, for different reasons. From what I understand recently they have had a turnover of employees, so I'm not sure if that is a good or a bad thing, but I'm not going back to find out.
