We visited Howe Caverns on a winter weekday. It was not busy but the establishment was fully staffed with pleasant and professional people. The property and buildings are kept in immaculate condition. I love the history and story of the place. We took the tour into the caverns and was led by an extremely experienced and informative guide. The caverns are a visual wonder and we immensely enjoyed the short but fascinating boat ride. After our tour, we visited the gift store and snack shop. Both were attended by friendly and inviting staff. Overall, our visit to Howe Caverns was a 10 out of 10 experience.

This was our first time here. Decided to do something different for Valentines Day. The tour was a small group of 12 couples which was a nice size. The candlelight lantern tour (~2 hours altogether) was a unique experience. Learning about the cave history, formation and seeing the underground stream was fascinating. Our favorite part was the quiet boat ride by candlelight. At the end of the tour, the staff had a rose prepared for each "significant other", which was a nice touch tbh. We stayed the night at the motel on site which was clean and comfortable. Brian who checked us in was very friendly and helpful with dinner recommendations in town. Michael who was our cave tour guide was knowledgeable and funny which made the tour even more memorable. We'll tell friends and family about this off-the-beaten-path adventure for sure!

We stayed for a night at the Howe Caverns Motel and took the cave tour the next morning — it turned out to be a fun and memorable getaway. The motel was clean, quiet, and comfortable, with a great view of the surrounding valley and hills. It’s not fancy, but it’s exactly what you want for a peaceful overnight stay before the tour. The staff were friendly and check-in was easy. The next morning we joined the 90-minute cave tour, which was the highlight of the trip. The guide was knowledgeable and entertaining, and the experience itself was fascinating — walking through illuminated passageways, seeing impressive rock formations, and even taking a short underground boat ride. The temperature stays around 52 degrees year-round, so a light jacket and good shoes are a must. Staying right on-site made it easy to take our time and enjoy the experience without rushing. It’s a great stop for families or anyone looking for something unique and a little adventurous. We’d definitely do it again.
