2/17/2026 You know this might be the most breathtaking, highest, places I’ve ever been. Getting in was a bit of a wait but everything was so organized you’re welcome with shoe covers. All rooms have something special and the views of the city will have camera rolls full. The cafe at the top with the lounge setting was a nice touch after the excitement of the city views. Hot dog highly recommend very clean areas. Gift shop as you find the way out and don’t worry about the long line to leave it goes pretty fast. If you thought about going let me tell ya BUY THE TICKET.

Go at Night I used to live in New York and somehow never made it to a lot of the big tourist spots while I was here (likely bc we avoid those areas and crowds!) . I was back in town recently for work with a colleague who had never been to NYC, and we were looking for something interesting to do in the evening after dinner upon realizing he’d never seen NYC sites — . We came across Summit at One Vanderbilt almost by accident and decided to try it … at 10pm . It ended up being absolutely incredible. The views are obviously amazing, but the whole experience is much more immersive than a typical observation deck. The mirrored spaces and lighting make it really unique and surprisingly fun to explore and take photos. We went in the evening and it was perfect. There were basically no lines, plenty of space to move around, and it didn’t feel crowded at all. That made it so much more enjoyable because you could actually take your time and appreciate everything without feeling rushed. If you’re deciding when to go, evening is definitely the move. The city lights make the whole experience even better. Even as someone who lived in New York, it completely exceeded expectations.

This was an awesome experience if you just want to relax and enjoy the views and/or see the sunset over the city. The area with the balloons can be a bit chaotic with children in there but still pretty cool. We spent almost 2 1/2 hours there. Getting back down to the bottom was quite a process with so many people leaving at once but, I'm sure the time frame of when we left (approximately 7pm) was a factor. I would definitely go again and recommend it!
