We stayed at The Wallace for two nights last month and had a great experience. The hotel feels stylish and welcoming, and the front desk staff were friendly and efficient. Our room was spacious, very clean, and the wooden floors were beautifully maintained. The shower had excellent water pressure, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches like slippers. The location is also very convenient. There’s a good Thai restaurant nearby, and just a short walk away, there are various bus lines, making it easy to get around the Upper West Side. We stayed during Valentine’s Day, and there was live music at the bar on the first floor in the evening, which created a lovely and romantic atmosphere. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to New York!

My family and I have had a wonderful stay at the Wallace Hotel. It was our first visit and we were pleasantly surprised. We picked it for location— as we were doing a staycation while my husband had a conference, visited museums, and I caught up with some friends. The staff were pleasant and accommodating. I have been working in luxury hospitality as a brand trainer with emphasis on service standards and the team here really made the service feel friendly and down to earth while maintaining professionalism. The hotel was so clean, especially impressed with our room. Shout out to Jayshawn for putting a smile on my son’s face with a stuffed animal upon arrival. Betty was helpful with some questions and I did not catch the names of the houseman (on the evening of 2/15 and morning of 2/16) and gentleman at the front desk (on the AM of 2/16). Well done and thank you for a great stay.

Thoughtful Design and Genuine Hospitality on the Upper West Side Overall Experience I discovered this hotel by chance, but it became one of the most thoughtfully designed and guest-centered places I have stayed. Nearly all staff members were consistently kind and professional. During the snowstorm, housekeeping operations were understandably limited, yet staff proactively checked whether guests needed anything. That level of attentiveness stood out. I would especially like to acknowledge the doorman who assisted me on the evening of the 26th. He was consistently warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. His professionalism and genuine kindness left a lasting impression. Room & Comfort The room reflects careful design. The layered window treatment (sheer, blackout, and exterior blinds) allows precise control of light. The bedding was exceptionally comfortable. The property was renovated in 2023, and its current freshness and quality are evident. Amenities & Lounge The bathroom amenities were excellent—so much so that I did not use the personal products I had brought. The lounge area is versatile and practical; during heavy snow, guests were able to relax and even have light meals there. The hotel appears to focus intentionally on room quality and guest comfort rather than traditional breakfast service, which I personally appreciated. Minor Notes There were small issues: the ice machine on the 8th floor can be somewhat loud, and the heating system occasionally makes brief noise when activating. Soundproofing is adequate but not perfect. None of these significantly affected my stay. Final Thoughts I would gladly return, especially because of the Upper West Side location, surrounded by excellent restaurants and cultural venues. The hotel combines thoughtful design with sincere hospitality, and I am grateful for the experience.
