Train Yard is not open to the public. Building and wooden planks need a makeover badly. You must be really careful where you step, boards are spaced too far apart. My coworker got her foot caught in between the boards and fell when we were coming out of a class. We had to help her get her foot loose and get her up quickly. Not fond of the area, way too dark walking down the block to the yard from the New Lots Train station.

This train yard isn't open to the public. Train employees only.This yard maintains the 3 train and the Grand Central Shuttle. The yard also stores some 2,4 and 5 trains,which might explain why certain 2 trains go to New Lots Avenue during the am rush. Certain 2, 4 and 5 trains make their start in the yard. The yard is close to the New Lots Avenue station which is convenient. If a train is in bad order, it can go to the yard for a replacement. Train buffs should see decent action from the yard leads,looking up from the street. Can be noisy at times for the residents.
