“Avoid This Business – Untrustworthy and Unprofessional I strongly advise against doing business with San Benito Auto Wreckers. My mom purchased a transmission from them for $900, and after paying another $1,200 to have it installed at a local shop, we discovered it was faulty. According to their website’s warranty policy, we should have been able to return it for a refund or exchange—but that was not the case. I had to call multiple times a day for two weeks, constantly getting the runaround before finally obtaining the owner’s number (Jacob). When I spoke with him, he was unhelpful and dismissive, claiming their policy was to replace the transmission first and only offer a refund if they couldn’t find another one—which is nowhere stated on their website. When I pointed this out and requested a refund, he flat-out refused. When I told him I would take legal action, he said ok, and hung up on me. When my mom called, Jacob was incredibly rude, again refusing the refund and hanging up on her as well. This business does not stand by its policies, lacks basic customer service, and seems comfortable taking people’s money without accountability. If you want reliable parts, honest service, and a company that actually honors its policies, avoid this place at all costs. Save yourself the stress and shop somewhere reputable. FYI the transmission was purchased on 2/11/25 So still under warranty, according to the policy.”
