So the big plus side to A-1 salvage yard is that I at least got a bed for my truck that is in better shape than my original. The downside, well I ask them how much and they start looking at pictures of it on the computer, "oh look at that! There's no dents on it at all!" They said. Well yes there were actually 2 dents, one is pretty minor on top rail near where the tailgate is. The second dent small but severe in the sense that there is a crease in it. They kept refusing to acknowledge the dents and refused to drop the price. I ultimately decided to go ahead and just pay their asking price of $650 plus taxes knowing it would cost $800 to repair the dents. Now I have to point out that this salvage yard does not allow customers to pull their own parts so a huge chunk of that $650 goes to cost of labor, and sure enough they put 2 new dents in the bottom of the bed (one on each side) they probably damaged it by using a fork lift. They refused to acknowledge the new dents that were not there when I purchased the bed and their response in fact was, "well you are the one that chose that bed and there is nothing we can do about it!" Also want to point out that this bed has a locked fuel filler door, I get that they didn't have a key but they still should have taken the time to break the lock so they could remove the fuel cap and fuel line guard to properly and safely remove the bed. They left that door locked and as a result broke the fuel line and fuel cap when they pulled the bed off the truck. The only reason I am giving a 2 star rating is because the bed was originally in decent shape before they touched it, but it is going to cost me a lot of money to fix the damage they have done! 4 dents to repair instead of originally 2 dents, and they refuse to accept responsibility. Wish I would have kept the busted fuel cap to take pictures of to show their additional recklessness they had in removing the bed from its original truck. First 2 pictures are of dents that were already there, yes the second one is so small it is barely visible. But the last 2 pictures are of dents they put in it after I bought the bed, both reall nasty creases in them making repair cost more expensive.
