Rick at the counter is a character! Don't catch him on a bad day he can be very rude! But if you catch him on a good day, he's the nicest person in the world. It's very unfortunate that the business is run that way. We live in a customer service-based world and their customer service is terrible, just look at those negative reviews!

I would leave no stars if I could. I called just yesterday to order a part and even GAVE MY CARD INFO ON THE PHONE and was given a ref number and was told that my card would be ready today after 12PM. Today I call and I was told there is nothing in the system for me and that their system was down yesterday so they couldn't have taken my info or even answer their phone. I have screenshots of our 3 min convo yesterday Nov 3 in which i did give my card. This place is poorly managed and the customer service is god awful I do not recommend this place to anyone. Not reliable at all.

What an absolute dumpster fire(pun intended) contacted in the morning to see a part first hand considering they couldn’t get me verification of actual condition(ok fine). Get there and they barely acknowledge that I even came in. One guy finally decided to acknowledge me, but doesn’t assist, finally after pondering it for a min, he decides to ask me if I need something. I explain to him the situation and he pulls up his online photo of the car I wanted to look at. Literally just pulls it up and turns the screen at me and just goes back to looking at his Robinhood account lol then when I explain again that I’d like to see it up close to verify condition like I previously explained, he tells me it’ll be 45 min before his guy gets back to be able to show me if I want to wait. Lol I’m from CT passing through, thus I wanted to verify I could see the part before I came. What ignorant and ssloppy business operations

Rude and unprofessional man that answers the phone.. Horrible to do business with so stay far away and go somewhere else. If you call for a part they will rush you off the phone and misinform you of the pricing. If you pay by phone you will get a bad car part. Customer service is very important running a business American Auto Salvage, Inc.

Rick was friendly and so helpful on the phone and email. He helped carry my window to my car. Saved me from driving with a windowless door in the freezing cold. Thank you so much! 😊

Needed to replace a wheel after a recent winter storm after destroying one by sliding into a curb. After a couple other wheels from another distant merchant fell through, I called American Auto Salvage on the recommendation of our local G & G Auto Recycling. Ricky (Woodbridge location) & Teddy (Culpeper location) were BOTH really great to deal with. They did have the wheel and totally explained the process. Of course I needed the wheel yesterday and even though they were swamped with orders and had several inches of fresh snow all over their inventory, they had it ready by early afternoon the same day. I even got a call from them on my hour drive there to let me know that there were some cosmetic blemishes that weren't real clear on an earlier photo they had emailed me.I still checked it out and it was fine for my purpose. I really appreciate their great customer service, honesty, and thoroughness. I'd absolutely recommend them and use them again when the need arises. Thanks!

$125 restocking fee, just to place the transmission back on the shelf. Was never removed from the pallet. Will not use again.

Plenty of stock, no added cost for certain parts and knowledgeable staff. The reason for 4 out of 5 is limited parking.

This is a horrible salvage yard. They say they guarantee their parts but after getting a supposedly “good” cylinder head from them , the machine shop tells me after pressure testing that I have at least two bent valves. The shop offered another cylinder head but I am already out $180 dollars on labor on a busted cylinder head and all they offered was $25. I wanted them to help meet me in the middle but now I am out the cost of a valve job and new valves. This yard is terrible and their business is not customer friendly. Stay away and go to a more reputable junk yard if at all possible.

Google all VINs they give you. Attempted to purchase an engine from them, I dealt with "Rick." Rick repeatedly gave me wrong VIN numbers. Believing that Rick had given me a correct VIN, I put a deposit on the engine. When I got home, I found the donor vehicle VIN on SalvageBid - it didn't match the vehicle American Salvage was trying to sell me. I called American Auto Salvage and they agreed to cancel the charge. I sent them a follow up email memorializing our conversation. They charged me anyway. I reported them to my credit card fraud investigation unit. I will avoid them at all costs.
