Doing renovations, I accumulate a variety of scrap. Every time there they sort it differently and treat me like I am trying to take advantage of them. Also been yelled at because I stopped my car to ask another customer if they were waiting for an open door. I'm tired of their attitude.

The Man With No Name (The Good)

This being my first ever doing business with the Family Metals Recycler business, turne out to be a pleasant, yet no nonsense al business in a comfortable dealing with these folks. I usualy take my scrap and recycle mateials to River Metals on River Road in The 'Ville. Louisville being my born and raised and the University is my alma mater, it's difficult for anything or anyone, to pull any aspect of my loyalty away from my River City. However, this visit was my time frame at 3:50pm would not permit me to reach Louisville or even the outlying Louisvile Metro limits in 10 minutes, which is the limit for River Metals that closes at 4. So, I hastily drove my scrap I was in the rainy, awful and so awful that I heard a quack or couple of quacked up ducks complaining of it being too wet and it was bad weather. Now for a duck to complain? It's got to be rain go away for this man. So when finished, I jumped in the ol' 250 HD. Turbo Z-71, oh, pardon me, Chevy fans. Ahem.... My mistake. I meant my FORD F-250 Super Duty Red "Go Cards" Turbo Diesel Off Road 4x4 with full across brush and Large fallen Tree BRANCH DESTROYER Black Horse Grill guard to load to Family Metals Turbo whistles for ALL. YEEHAWWWW!I might actually visit again with my pay"day" load and a trailer to boot, full of goodies to hit pay dirt without havin' to wash my, oh who am I kiddin? Real men don't worry 'bout how clean their trucks is, it's a Pick-Up Farm truck ain't it? Washin's fer Daisy and Boss Hogg. You should see the back of my farmhouse. I was backed up to the back entrance and had a "Not so easy to get traction"... 😉😆🤣 oh yeah, you know what happened..... 5 stars for Family Metals. Great visit with y'all!

Worth checking out there price very competitive the 2nd time I called 190/ ton for car body's whole best price around within 30 minutes and it's family owned not a franchise I recommend giving them a try

Don’t go here unless you want to be hassled for doing 8 mph while riding your breaks around the building and then asked to move your truck because you are blocking a bay door for all the customers…. I was the only customer there and my transaction that I parked for took 30 seconds. 🙄.

Me and my brother went there with 560 pounds aluminum which at the time of review is worth 50/60 cents a pound...they gave us $27 along with pretty poor customer service I honestly wouldn’t recommend going to family metals with your scrap id try and find a more legitimate scrap yard but that’s your call
