I just went back to Fayard for the first time in several years after having an unpleasant experience in the past. They FINALLY got rid of that cranky old man that used to "greet" everyone as they came in the door. Talk about a world of difference! Tony took care of me like family, and bent over backwards to find the correct part for my antique Packard! Once he located the part, it took several days to come in, as it had to be shipped in from somewhere across the country, but none of the chain parts stores could even figure out how to look it up. There are few old-time parts houses like this left these days, but thank God that they're here!

This place does bad business over the phone. They quote prices, then when you arrive, all kind of fees pop up. Then they don’t tell you their policy upfront, but expect you to read signs around their over crowded shop. The mom was nice, but Mr Tony was loud and rude. Not happy with the way they conduct business and make up prices Day by Day. Don’t ever take quotes over the phone and always get legible receipts. Their old carbon copes rubs off immediately and they act dumbfounded to what’s supposed to be on the receipt. I will never do business here again.

After calling o'reilly's, advance auto parts, autozone and summit racing parts and none of them could get my part, I finally remembered to call Fayard Auto Parts! Fayard has been around for as long as I can remember and they were able to get the ever elusive 2004 grand Marquis lighting control module for me, at a very good price! I am also getting my rotors and brake pads from Fayard for my 2003 Lincoln Town Car at a good price. I will never call Autozone again! lol. Fayard is now my go-to shop for all of my car parts!

First he told me one price then when I went to go pick up the parts he added almost $100 more and they broke my screws trying to take them off and wanted to charge me to finish taking off the pieces they left inside

<- If I could give NEGATIVE STARS, I would! (This is a post I placed on another site. I wanted to share it here as well.) Fayard Auto Parts does nothing except cheat people out of their hard-earned money. My husband called for a price & then called again a few days later for the same item and received a different price. When we went there to pay the required half the cost of the item they informed us that we had to pay shipping. Fine, but why didn't they say that when they give the price quote over the phone? When the part came in & we went to go pick it up & pay the remainder of what we owed, they charged us a higher shipping price than what they had said it would be. So then, we had 2 choices...we could either have paid them the extra amount that they were stealing from us for shipping or we could have said never mind, we didn't want it, but then we would have lost our money because they don't give refunds. Letting them steal our money by charging us more or letting them steal our money because they don't give refunds is unacceptable! We will NEVER do business with them again nor will I allow anyone we know to do business with them. They're scammers and cheaters!!!. I have never written a review before but then no one has ever cheated me the way Fayard did.

I’ll never do business with them again. They come off as nice people, but remind me more of crooked salesman’s who talk fast but don’t truly care about good customers. I gave up a used transmission after buying a new one and never got my core credit back! One of the owners gave me excuses for weeks asking for more time until finally telling me that they never got credit for the used transmission that I turned in to them and that it was cracked which should not have mattered considering they require you to turn in broken parts that you are replacing with used parts! So basically I’m out of my used transmission and $200. These people are snakes who smile on your face and look you in the eye and blatantly lie to you. Worst customer service ever!

May 18,2022 I received a replacement motor after waiting 2 months. I had to pay for shipping to send the first motor which was no good back which was over $300, once the replacement motor I had to pay shipping to get the replacement her which was also over $300. I paid over $800. If u pay with a card, they charge 9.5%. I will never use or recommend this place to anyone. They are all about money. No empathy at all. Please read reviews on this place and pass the word on. I would hate to see alot of people pay money they dont need to. This was the worst service I have ever received. I purchase a motor and it wasn’t like the one I originally had so, i brought it back to get the same as I had and the owner told me it will work, I just have to change somethings around on the motor like the timing cover and some other things. I would never purchase anything from this place. And then the owner gonna lie about the price he told me for the motor. Ne careful where you purchase things and get what they tell you in writing

They have one sales person down there who thinks too much of himself. He enjoys pulling fast ones on decent businesses just out of his mean spirit. I enjoy pranks more so than anyone else. What I do not appreciate is ordering parts and returning parts for no good reason. I don't appreciate racial slurs while on the phone trying to get my business handled. I don't appreciate wasting important time on this sales person's inane behavior. There are a lot of yards just up north in the Midwest that think Fayard could do better. Be better. Several yards up our way that are just tire of the phone calls. Maybe as they move down the road, they will figure out better practices.

Worst customer service ever. I called to get a quote on a part for my 80 y/o mother. I was quoted one price on the phone and when she arrived they quoted her a higher price and became very irate and threw her money back to her. This was very unprofessional and inappropriate behavior. We will never do business with this establishment EVER AGAIN!!!

Horrible experience! Needed a transmission, was told one price over phone and differ when I got there. Also, after paying for shipping and taxes, I was told that I still owed money after part arrived at location. The owner said that although I paid for shipping they had additional fees. Why pay the fee in the first place if it's going to change and I would have to pay more afterwards. I was in tears because of the unfairness and he definitely had an attitude because I'm a woman. He said "is this even for you?" Well obviously it is I'm standing here with a receipt. After taking numerous pictures of him, the location, and staff, he says that I can get 25% off my next services. How about you just give me money back that I had to pay extra. I can go on and on about the rudeness as well as bad communication skills but I'll save it, I have vented enough you guys have been warned!

The most unprofessional staff starting with the owner "Clown" Tony he is a crook in every sense of the word. you will love the hand written receipts they give where the write it on a blank piece of paper, and then you will never see your money back when you find out you're not getting the part you ordered. Stay away and save yourself a horrible experience

I was in search of a discontinued part and didn’t know where else to look. I called them and they were able to locate it within the hour! Super friendly staff and they really know what they are talking about. They were about to close when they called but stayed open a little longer for me to be able to order my part! No other place would do that! Fayard’s is definitely my go to part place from now on.

My name is Lionel McCoy ,while in search of a rare rim I stumbled upon Fayard junk yard . On a wing and a prayer I inquired about there inventory . To my amazement I was told that they in deed had the rims in stock immediately. I was puzzled how prompt his response was.to my question. I am still a hesitant most places had put me on hold for 10 -15 minutes and returned simply to say "Nope try anotherplace", The staff went above ,they took time to text me a picture of the rim. 100% match. Instead of calling junkyards in Kenner, New Orleans and surrounding areas waisting my time this will be my first call from here on out. Satisfied customer.

Wish I could give 0 stars. Stay away from this place, he will steal your money. Anthony is a big liar and makes promises that he can’t deliver on. If you value your money, don’t do business here. He stole $2360 from us. I hope it’s worth it.

If I could give this company ZERO STARS I would this store actually made me cry I feel bamboozled and used ...first I go into the store and order the part I needed for $50, 75 with shipping...The Next day the old man Terri called and said that there is no such thing as that part and that I needed a timing cover which would cost me $80 more. I trusted them because I have been a loyal customer brought my transmission from them (which just recently went bad not even 6mths, and I can’t use the warranty because they don’t keep receipts or a filing system), but I was also in dire need of getting my car running becux without this part my timing belt will not stay on...however I come and get the timing cover ($163.00 total) which is not the part I needed and he refuses to take it back, he is extremely rude never once apologized becuz after all he was the one who dialed my phone and mad the order (which I never should have took his advice but like I said I was desperate to get my car running and paying a ton on car rentals) so he proceeds to tell me to put it under my Xmas tree or wait a week until Mr. Fayard is back in town. He was the rudest of rude just Ignorant and Stubborn and even hung up in my face. In between this week I found the part at AREA SALVAGE AUTO PARTS for $45 the same part HE called and told me didn’t exist. I talked to Mr. Fayard and he tells me "oh we can work out something if u buy the part u originally needed we can do a trade, we found the part u needed for $112 but since you paid $50 for the part we will charge you that amount,” So I was thinking that’s fine I just have to pay $50 I can return the part I originally purchased from the salvage yard and get my $163 back right…NO!!! These dimwits actually wanted me to pay $50 on top of the $163...I said I would try my luck selling the part because it made no sense at all. Mr. Fayard then convinces me to bring the part in to see what he can do, he wasn’t in when I brought the part left my name and number with the nice little old lady because I was on my way to work and I always get off when they are closed and told her to tell Mr.Fayard to give me a call before he makes any decisions. ONE WEEK later I decide to give him a call, he is very hard to catch since he is not always in his store, He proceeds to tell me that he ship the part off and will call me in 3 business days, after countless times trying to get into contact with him 2 weeks later he tells me that they are only able to give me a $40 store credit…so I ask for the part back he says, “Well I shipped it back u would have to pay me $52 to get it back and that $163 was not a lot of money, in this day and age $10 maybe considered a lot of money”…As I am writing this I couldn’t believe it myself, if it’s not a lot of money then why couldn’t you just give me my money back or at least a store credit worth that amount. Lesson learned they are nice when u are paying them but when they mess up don’t expect even the slightest, I told him he lost a very good customer I will never recommend or buy from him again. He said that is fine he have plenty of customers without me. NOTHING BUT GET OVERS!!! It’s been a month and I never got the call for the $40 credit and when I called he didn’t remember told me to call the police and hung up…WHICH I WILL

Wish I could give them 0 stars. Very unethical!!! Cannot understand what they're saying in the first place and then they want to scream and shout at you when asking questions to better understand them. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM !!!! Crooks is definitely what they would be classified as. Save your money AND your time and go somewhere else.

My daughter had these guys repack a engine in her car. A.) They ordered the engine from a junk yard, And had no clue if it would run. B.) On the invoice they give you, it has one thing on it. “30 Day warranty on all parts”. They had her car starting on 11/18/19, Ordered the engine on 11/14/19, received the engine on 11/20/19 and finished installing the engine for an extra $100 on 11/27/19. The owner TONY said it comes with a 45 day warranty (which started on 11/14/19). When she got the car back the extra $100 was for JB Weld and labor to REPAIR A HOLE in the transmission oil pan. They put 10W-30, in a car that requires 20W-5 motor oil. About a week later she asked me if she should have to keep putting oil in the car because it was low and leaking. So I checked it out. I saw that the oil pan was leaking from the entire seam where it was bolted to the engine and it was almost rusted through. I took a ride over to FAYARD’S autoparts in Gretna. I spoke to the owner who was going to charge her $150 for a new oil pan and $11.99 for the oil pan gasket. I told him NO, I’m going to take it to the dealership where she should have gone in the first place. They found: 1. The wrong type oil in the engine. 2. The oil pan was completely rusted out, and could not believe a mechanic shop let it leave like that. 3. No oil pan gasket, someone used blue silicon to put it back on. 4. JB Weld on the transmission oil pan in the corner, they could not believe a mechanic shop let it leave like that. The oil pan cost me $65.00 and came with a 10 year warranty from autozone. And the gasket was $29.00. I called the owner of FAYARDS the next morning to ask if he could pay for the parts that we’re suppose to be under warranty. He said NO. If you like to be lied to and love paying way to much to fix your car with junk, and the wrong way, then I highly recommend this dump. Please if you don’t know anything about a car, please just try to fix it yourself with duct tape before bringing it to this crew of convicts.

Please DO NOT entertain the thought of doing business with this company!!!!! Save yourself a whole lot of headache by discarding his cleaver conversation and pricing... Always remember when the pricing seems to good to be true more often than not it is exactly that... I am in the process of suing this company over $200.00 It is my complete intent to make sure that this companies SCAM pricing stops with me!!! PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS ENTIRE MESSAGE!!!!

True parts guys are a dying breed for certain, but the craft lives on at Fayard. Doing business with em brings me back to when I was just starting out professionally wrenching some thirty odd years ago. Back then most every parts house had people that knew their stuff and they helped me out TREMENDOUSLY when I was a rookie. Thanks for all the help guys.

I called Fayards' and was greeted by Shawn, he made me feel like I could ask any question and without hesitation gave me the answer in seconds. Not one of those companies that act like they are to busy for someone on the phone. I told Shawn my problem and he said they would beat anyones price, (i've called plenty of places) and that they would be the cheapest along with a lifetime warranty. He was right, he really did make my day. I would refer my family and friends even strangers to give Fayards a call first. They have my business for now on.
