great place to recycle, but is unsafe to go around the back of the building to turn around. issues with a flat tire, heavy equipment moving and no safety zone.

Anything that is "silver" and is not steel will be considered aluminum and pays like $0.15 a pound if your lucky. They will not tell you or sort #1 and #2 copper, its all just #2 or worse. Its day by day if you come out on top, most likely you'll lose. Definitely not a "fair" yard. They win on the price side, and on the weight side and still let you fail. Its a Shame.

They give the lowest rates available. Tested them then out today to see what they are like. I brought in 40 pounds of clean steel. The steel was a DJ truss that I was no longer using. They gave $0.07 a pound. $2.80 was not worth the drive over there. They categorized it as just scrap.

I proceed slowly with much circumspection upon the agregate surface that was no doubt in league with the possible sharp objects carelessly dropped from fossil fuel powered behemoths, that surely could destroy the tires on my poor little passenger car, loaded with 120lbs of scrap steel, as the sign clearly warned about and claimed no liability for. I drove towards a man wearing an orange safety vest, hoping for direction, he placed a magnetic car hat on the roof of my small sedan, #14 it read, and told me to go that way as he pointed vaguely towards a mountain of metal, with giant cranes, bulldozers and dump trucks (that brought to my mind a herd of dinosaurs feasting at a dinosaur graveyard), go that way and turn right. Slowly and with much trepidation I headed towards the commotion as large trucks, some carrying other large trucks and things sped past me on my left, with much deliberation and reading of signs I found an open door to the building on my right and was directed to back up to it, which I did, and unloaded my cache onto a large scale where they weighed it and told me to drive around the building to the office to get paid. Upon arriving near the office I see a gray haired man about five and a half feet tall holding a bloody towel to his forehead, blood covering not only his shirt but his trousers, also heading for the office, where he sat down on a bench and was soon met by a taller man dressed in khakis and a button up shirt, wearing a hard hat and carrying a pen and clipboard. I collected my $7.26 and got back in my car, noticing my now filthy floor mats.

I am a recycler and I do it as a hobby. I go to a different place to recycle. I have been doing it for about 3 years. I went to this recycling center for the first time this past weekend. I like this place better than the other place that I thought was great. This was better. I will be going here from now on. It was clean compared to the other recycling places I have been to, well organized, and it was a fast process. Regarding the comment about Hispanics being treated in a rude manner, I am Hispanic. I read your comment before I went there and I had a pre-conceived notion that I was going to be treated in a bad way due to your comment and kind of hesitant about going there. I took a chance and went there and I did not experience any of the staff being rude. The ladies at the weighing ramp for iron were helpful and the guys at the recycling ferrous metals (copper, brass, etc.) place were also great. My 2cents....the guy in the white Toyota truck...

Great place to go recycle, been there several times.....staff is very pleasant to interact with, able to get in and out pretty quickly....place is relatively clean....just wish they would pay a little more for the scrap metal (was only $4 per 100 pounds last time we went)....
