I have trash service and had a construction dumpster brought to the house. Their customer service reps are some of the most consistently nice folks I've ever interacted with. Island Disposal is my regular weekly household waste removal service. I needed to change something about my service and sent an email via their website. I received the change and an email confirmation on the very next business morning. As with other communications in the past, they are quickly responsive, courteous and thorough.

Pickup on Wednesday afternoon is inconvenient for us. We don't use the service every week. Yesterday, missed the pickup which has happened several times.

My mother has had service for quite some time and on occasion I have to call in for her when there are issues, which unfortunately seems to happen every once in a while. A while back I had received attitude from an older sounding woman named Marissa, and let me tell you I will never forget that phone call. She was completely unprofessional, and her tone sounded like she hated her job, which in turn made me hate my experience. Long story short a few days ago I needed to help my mother with another account issue and I had called in to see what could be done and I received help from a woman named Marissa, who was completely respectful and kind. Also sounded quite a bit younger, which led me to ask if there was more than one Marissa there. Turns out there is, but now the unhelpful one goes by Debbie. The Marissa I had spoken to helped me resolve a simple issue and made me feel like she cared, so thank you.

I attempted to set up trash service, and after 4 weeks of no pick up, I called and found out my cans were too large. No note had been left, no contact made. I immediately cancelled, and thought nothing of it. However, 4 months later, and I’ve received multiple notices of a missing 23$ payment, for a service I’ve never received. I’ve called multiple times, and each time I’m assured that I’ll receive a call from a manager in a day or 2. I wait, and no calls come in. Rinse and repeat, until this week I receive a letter from a collection agency. For 23$. If the money is that important, I’d fully expect to receive some sort of correspondence or call from them like promised. Both as a customer and non customer, I’ve felt they care more about treating me like garbage than actually picking it up.
