Weller is always great. John and Ryan in Gaylord have always taken care of me through the years I have gotten numerous diesel truck parts from them and had 3 custom driveshafts built by them and they are top notch A+++++ Everytime all the time.

There's a service advisor that works at this location, that as of 5/13 was directly inside the main entrance or one seat to the right as you walk in, working for a national company that remans driveline components, that has never heard of shortening axles. To that advisor, after the pictured state, the cage is pressed off of the drive shaft. What follows is removal of .5 inches of the end of the axle shaft, the splines are then extended inward .5 inches, then a new key way is turned for the snap ring. Review is based on advisors' attitude, we all have bad days dude but maybe the 10 different advisors may have been able to direct me to your other location, or a competitors at the very least. To the consumer, all but the machine work can be done at home, with a $150 press, (maybe a $20 puller?)and a machine shop (plenty in GR), will do the work on both sides for $130 or less.
