I am extremely disappointed with Ferreira’s Auto Body and Towing Services. My mother was involved in a car accident, and her vehicle was towed by this company. What followed was one of the most frustrating and unacceptable experiences I’ve ever dealt with. The car was not taken to the business’s listed address, but instead to what we later learned was a personal address of an employee. When we called repeatedly on Saturday to locate the vehicle and retrieve my mother’s personal belongings, we were told to “keep calling back.” We called at least four to five times and even went in person to the business location — yet no one could tell us where the car actually was. When we directly asked for the address where the vehicle was being stored so we could retrieve essential personal items, the company refused to provide it. At that point, I contacted the Westport Police non-emergency line multiple times simply to have on record that we were trying to recover the vehicle and belongings and did not consent to the car being held without transparency. We were told delays were due to “preparing for a snowstorm.” As of today, January 24th, there is no snowstorm in sight. This explanation felt like a deflection rather than a solution. We were then told someone would get back to us on Tuesday. Given the lack of communication, transparency, and accountability so far, I have serious concerns about being charged storage fees for days when we were actively trying to retrieve the vehicle and were not even told where it was. This entire situation has caused unnecessary stress during an already difficult time. I hope the business takes steps to improve communication and basic customer care, because this experience was completely unacceptable.
