Doug is an ex-GM certified mechanic. Does a great job helping me restore my 79 Trans Am - a little at a time. I drop the car off to have a few items handled per year. Really knows his stuff and what is missing on the car and how it should be.

Had been bringing my Jaguar xj8 to Doug for some time, but on the last visit observed the following: I had asked Doug to repair a driveshaft vibration, he road tested, but did not repair. I also had him overhaul the rear brakes, however I supplied the brake rotors. His pricing on brake calipers was very high so I supplied parts from Rock Auto. He supplied two cables and miscellaneous parts but the labor came to 980 dollars, extremely high, and he held onto the car for an entire month, unacceptable. Rock Auto was super fast, its just Doug's archaic business practices and highest prices which are at fault. Lastly, Doug was unable to remedy a troubling fault code involving the brakes. I did discuss all of the above with Doug to no avail. Put your hands up when you go to Doug Freidank Automotive. And if you have to own a Jaguar, seek professional assistance prior. Get used to places like Rock Auto, the new parts purveyor.

Horrible experience, Doug checked an engine intake leak, then repaired for check engine light. Problem has returned a year later, Doug refuses to help. Don't use Doug he has no clue as to what he's doing. He's expensive, slow (over a month), no guarantees. Check his hourly first, then run away.
