This is absolutely diabolical and inhuman. My car was towed while I was simply trying to get to class. I spent over 20 minutes driving around the UNCG parking deck trying to find a spot, and when I couldn’t, I parked outside of FedEx, which appears to be public parking or at the very least should be available to students who already pay an insane amount in tuition and fees. The tow truck driver literally saw me park in the morning and said nothing. No warning, no “you can’t park here,” nothing. I came back 30 minutes later and my car was gone, and the same guy was right there towing another car. He could have been a decent human being and warned me, but instead chose to tow it anyway. This feels predatory and intentional. When I went to get my car, they demanded $300 in cash only. No card, no proper office, just two guys collecting money into their own vehicle. That is extremely sketchy. There was also no clear sign posted stating how much it would cost to get the car back. So where exactly is this $300 coming from? How is that legal? This feels less like enforcement and more like a scam targeting stressed students who are just trying to get to class and survive the day. We earn our money the hard way, not by towing people’s cars and holding them hostage for cash. You are ruining people’s days and taking their hard earned money with zero transparency. At the very least, be decent human beings and warn people before towing them immediately. This entire setup feels predatory, unethical, and dishonest. And before anyone replies with a smart comment telling me not to park in “unauthorized parking,” spare me. This looked like a public place, there was no clear warning about a $300 fee, and the way this was handled was still wrong and predatory. I will be contacting Greensboro police and parking enforcement about this.

Local authorities should be investigating the racket that this towing service has with the apartment lease company or the local businesses. We have just had to pay them $300 CASH ONLY (is this legal?) to pick up our car after stopping for lunch at Hop’s. We are out of town, it is mid day on Saturday. Hop’s was full, so we parked across the street at the strip area with Marco’s. We parked at the far row (we now see, next to, but not clearly affiliated with apartments) and we were THE ONLY CAR in that entire row. There were 0 cars there. In the time that it took us to eat lunch, one hour tops, our car was towed. Thank goodness for the kindness of a local Uber Driver to help us and our son still be able to attend the hiring conference he was here for. There is clearly some shady dealings between this company and the apartment leasing agency or one of the strip mall shops (China Cafe, Marco’s). Someone must have tipped them off that we had parked in a towing row, and the cash only rule allows the towing company to pay back the tipster. It’s a racket. Hop’s was great, but if there is no parking, just leave. Never returning to Greensboro which is too bad. Thank you to Ray, the very kind and helpful Uber driver for helping us navigate the stress of being stranded during a high stakes conference for our son. To the towing company, you should be ashamed.

Im just sharing my experience as im sitting here thinking about the suffering YOU caused me. You towed my car from the apartments i was staying at 4 days before Christmas ONLY because I had a flat tire. The apartment complex DOES NOT enforce these "tow policies" year round they pick and choose when to enforce them and when they do its last minute. Because you towed my vehicle I lost my job, my apartment, EVERYTHING. I am literally homeless have not had a job in a year. So thanks for the suffering you've caused in my life. You decided to put business before humanity YOU DONT KNOW WHAT PEOPLE ARE FACING. ITS COLD HEARTED AND SORRY OF A PERSON TO DO THIS TO SOMEONE AT THAT BEFORE CHRISTMAS!! THANK YOU.
