I am writing to share a concern regarding my first-time experience at AIM in Greenville. My initial interaction with staff was positive. Two employees were professional and friendly, and the experience began on a good note. The issue occurred when I entered the office to collect $4.90. As this was my first visit, I was unfamiliar with the process. I was asked for my ID, which I provided. I then noticed a camera and asked what it was for. I was told a photo was required and that it was “the law,” specifically referencing DPS. I asked if the policy could be shown to me in writing. The employee appeared unsure, and another staff member repeated the same explanation but was also unable to immediately provide documentation. Eventually, another employee located the written policy. However, by that point, the staff involved appeared visibly frustrated, and I was handed my ticket back for simply asking a question. As a retired military member, I believe that when someone asks a reasonable question—especially a first-time customer—it should be answered professionally, not met with attitude or dismissal. The dismissive behavior, including lip-smacking and visible annoyance, was unprofessional and unnecessary. My concern is not the policy itself, but how it was communicated and handled. I hope this feedback is taken constructively and used to improve customer interactions, particularly with first-time visitors who are unfamiliar with the process. This was my first visit to AIM Recycling in Athens. All the employees were friendly, courteous and helpful. I'm glad I found them. I have been looking for a place to take an old blender base and discovered they take them. I took advantage of their Valentine's Day special on cans and found a place other than the landfill to take my blender base. Thank you AIM Recycling. I'll be back.

AIM has the best prices, great service!! Rueben in the specialty metals building at the athens location, makes everything flow so easy. If you have scrap metal this is the place to go.
