They sold me the wrong motor for $400, I went to exchange it to get the right motor and then they added $150 and made it $550. So I took the head off to check it out in the parking lot and found that it was no good. They told me it was “as is” and I argued with them so they got me another motor, charged me another $50 core charge, and told me not to take it apart in the parking lot (because of course that would prove that they sold me another bad motor and if I do it in their presence then they can’t deny it), so I got it home and found that the motor was bad also. They won’t refund money and they have no other motor to exchange. Nice place to get ripped off!

Very helpful sales associate advised me to transport the windshield in the tray of my truck. He donated a used tire to support it.

I should've put this out there some years ago. These guys here are great. I had an emergency with a broken rear windshield. Someone chose to take out their anger on it one night when I slept, I woke up to get ready for work and found shattered glass everywhere. These guys had a replacement ready to go and even offered to install it for me, on the spot. You don't get service like this most of the time. These guys know their stuff and will help you. They have a good supply and will not sell you junk. I've been restoring cars a long time and know how hard it is to find certain parts, especially in reasonable condition. Some of their parts are warrantied, too. You don't get that kind of service on used parts the majority of the time. It takes a lot of effort to run a shop like this. This place is a gem to me!

I have been going here for years and years. Spent thousands with them. Bought a used cylinder head. Turned out it was bad. Called to get an exchange and was told I had a 5 day warranty. Also hung up on. Told me that the 5 day policy was on my receipt. However the only receipt I was given was my credit card receipt. He basically told me I was screwed, thanks for your $200 for a bad part and hung up. I will be spreading the word as I am a Automotive Repair business owner. Never have I dealt with this level of "screw you" from any other salvage yard. BEWARE

Both times now Tom has came thru when no other used auto parts store in Florida could help me. The prices and the parts are great. All parts come with a 30 day warranty which is awesome and gives you a piece of mind. I highly recommend seeing Tom if you are looking for good quality used parts in Tampa and the state of Florida because they will ship the part directly to you which in my case was Miami.

Neat and tidy salvage yard with a good selection, prompt service even with short staff. Tom was very nice and accommodating, and the turnaround for my bumper assembly was only a couple hours. I'm going to keep my eye on this place for future parts.

Needed a pass side mirror assembly I called and spoke to Tom, he said he has one in stock. Upon arrival he sent some one to retrieve said part, the effort was fruitless. Tom then left his desk and Said let me look upstairs, he came back with the part I needed. So the part in the wrong place and Tom spent extra time to track it down for me. Great customer Service!! My experience was amazing, to boot they also have a part for my 2009 x5 for a great price.

The place doesn't look the best, there car parts everywhere when you walk in and it looks like a dump but the guys working there aren't too bad. I needed a electrical part for my car, (they only do swap outs if an electrical part doesn't work so no refund btw, which I think is a bad policy to have but they are just trying to make money which I get.) The part does work though but if you go there it takes some time even if you call ahead. If you're short on money then yes its definitely worth doing until you can spend the money on a new part. But I wouldn't recommend this as a first option, just a last resort or if you're short on money.

I was quoted a price for a complete engine and when I drove three hours to purchase the engine, Allen's had stripped the alternator, starter, and air flow meter off of the car. I had to purchase these parts separate. They definitely do not honor what they tell you over the phone. I would be extremely cautious if you are driving a long distance to purchase parts from this business.

Had multiple transactions with this place & tried to be patient… 1) even for a salvage yard ,They’re parts are not in decent condition at all.. Yet they will greedily sell you a part knowing it’s in bad shape. adding to that the warranty system they have is predatory…. If you have a core, for an item purchased yesterday, they will not except it today with out the receipt at all .. even if you returned a core the same day without a receipt they will not reimburse your money…

I needed an oil pan for my old BMW, Allen's had one of the best prices on the internet. So I gave them a call, and they were very helpful about making sure I got the part in good condition by showing photos from several angles, close-ups, etc. They shipped it quickly, and it made the 3000 mile journey in good shape. Pleasure doing business with these guys!

Tom was very helpful. He is straightforward and was very accommodating in helping me locate the parts I needed. The prices are reasonable and I will most definitely go back there when I need parts again. They aren't the closest shop to me but I feel that it is worth the trip. Highly recommended.

I went to Allens Auto Parts to purchase a 2 row radiator for my sons car, one of the employees assured me it was the right one 3 times. When I got to the mechanics it turns out it was the wrong (1 row) radiator. When I went back to return it not even 24 hours later the owner charged me 25% for restock fees when it was not my fault one of his employees gave me the wrong one. The owner did not wanna reason with me at all, blamed me for the situation and also tried to assure me I had the right part when I knew I didn’t. Very unprofessional will not return to this place again, will not recommend.

These guys are professionals at robbing customers. Just take a moment to read their reviews and you will see how they rob every one of their customers. Unfortunately, they are ROOKIES in the auto parts business which is why they have too constantly argue with customers about the wrong stuff they sell and the defective parts they sell to everyone. Stay far away from this place if you're smart.

I tore a hole in my oil pan on my jetta, called Allen's they had the part required for my car and I was able to come and scoop it that day with absolute ease. Unfortunately for me, my engine had been swapped and I needed a completely different pan. Called Allen's back and they were ready and willing to find the part I needed at no extra charge. My mechanic had actually already ordered the part so while they didn't need to find the replacement, the guys at Allen's accepted the return and made the whole process easy and stress free. I'll need parts again in the future and I know exactly where to go!

The staff here is very nice with great customer service. The only issue I had was with Mike. He told me he would give me $300 for my car with free towing but changed it the next day after towing my car. I just know to do business differently next time. Lesson learned!

First time contacting this company. I already have love for them. Kat was polite, professional and very knowledgeable. I was immediately impressed when I heard Kat take time and care to educate AND explain the situation to her customers for their complete understanding of their vehicles problem. KAT worked a great price for glass and install making it reasonable and relatively inexpensive. Thank you Kat! I'm a fan B-) I will be a returning customer ;-)

Ordered a tail light lens, first of all they sent it a day later then the said. They sent it to the wrong address and didn't care. I had to go to ups to pick up the part the next day. I get the part and it is the wrong side. I call them up and again no help. I have to send someone an hour away to get the right one. it wasn't ready and it was broken. Again no help and they wanted to charge me more money. Just in all a very bad experience. Will not go back and would not recommend to use them.

I purchased a starter for my ford and when i I asked if returns were accepted the guy at the register said “yes” no store credit nothing. I come back in about a week to return the starter and the same guy lies and says “no we were talking about a transmission” I proceeded to tell him that we didn’t hadn’t said ANYTHING about a transmission and his response was “just put it on eBay or marketplace” I was LIVID, if this is how things are run here I’m NEVER coming back and will be mentioning to everyone I know.

Beware!!! Just bought a used engine from Allen's. Was told it won't come with accessories, which is fine. Was told it would come with exhaust and intake manifolds. Went to pickup the engine and the throttle body is gone! They tell me it doesn't come with the throttle body, it's an accessory! But, I can buy it for another $100.00!! I could've sworn the throttle body was on the engine a week ago when I went to see the engine. I should've taken pictures!

Unfortunately, such a company does not hold up to there end of the bargain, first sending an engine that was totally rusted inside and out, lifters don't work noting on that engine block was salvageable and charged us $800.00 w/o testing. Now we are stuck with no good engine and out of $800.00. WHAT A RIP OFF! Not only do I have an unsatisfied customer that we need to take care of BUT we also can not trust used parts company especially ALLEN USED AUTO PARTS, terrible company to do work with!! Dishonest Liars that will not meet you half way. Watch out, they will do it to you as well, they promise that!

Well made a mistake bought a used battery well didn't have enough power to start my truck. I took back 4days later cause warranty was for 30 days . Act has if I was lieing wouldn't give back my cash but gave in store credit. I know never to go there again

This review is long overdue, however, I have to give Allen's Auto Parts 5 stars. I purchased a set of Jaguar rims and tires through Tom at Allen's and everything went as smooth as possible. I ordered them from Toronto and arranged for pickup - Tom was able to have the rims shrink wrapped on a pallet and loaded onto the truck for an easy pickup. They even called my freight company to confirm all the details of the pickup. I would definitely recommend doing business with them!

This is the worse place ever. I brought a radiator that didn't FIT. Mind you I say didn't FIT & the saying is "if it doesn't fit don't force it." So when the mechanic goes to put it on it doesn't FIT. To only discover it also had a small leak. Tom wants to say he damaged it putting it on, by putting a screw in it. Very impossible, because it didnt FIT so why in the hell would he try to put a screw somewhere if it didn't FIT. These folks are very rude & unprofessional. They do not like to own up to there damaged parts. I wasn't asking for any money back, I just need my part. You sold me the wrong part & you can't accommodate me no kind of way. The radiator was not damaged as it was being put on, because it didn't FIT. *DO NOT BUY PARTS FROM HERE* Go somewhere that they care about their customers, have a warranty & will work with you if their goods are DAMAGED!!! Yes he is a Very High Quality Mechanic and I never had problems with parts that I've brought from High Quality Auto Stores. You do the math dummy. The hole was not where the fan was mounted at, it was at the very top of the radiator a small puncture hole. Coolant was never put in it after he seen that it didn't fit that's when he discovered the hole, not from coolant being put in it. Hell the radiator cap didn't even FIT, it was the wrong radiator and defaulted. You guys suck period!!!

If you are looking for one of the worst places to do business in Tampa?you found the place! This place goes out of their way to make you feel unwelcome, it looks like a third world country $h*&hole, every square inch of this place is covered with disclaimers, they could sell you a box full of used cat litter for a alternator and if you tried to return it? they would point to some sign you walked past to deny a refund, they give the worst warranty out of any salvage yard in Tampa, if you had a problem with a part they would would not honor any warranty anyways , there are plenty of better options to spend your hard earned dollars than this place, They apply core charges to everything and if you don't have a original receipt? they will deny that too

Went searching for a part today and even though Allen's didnt have the part, we had the best experience there is when it comes to a car part shop. Tom assisted us by recommending other places, searched in the computer and even called around for us. We are grateful for his assistance and we will definitely be back in the future when we are in need of another part. Thank you Tom!

I came into your store and was immediately greeted by Kat. She was so helpful in finding the part I needed. She is extremely knowledgeable and pleasant. Friendly service with a big smile is an art that has basically disappeared, and Kat has that art. Thank you Kat and Allen Used Auto for hiring her....don't let her go!!
- TTodd Randolph
First, not welcoming at all. Their treatment of costumers is disparaging. Second, I called up and gave specific information for an item, they said they had it and it would cost $25. I showed up and they showed me a different item, and I clarified again the specific information. they got the correct item and told me it was $50. I told them they misquoted to me on the phone and they did not care.

My girlfriend visited here for a quote for a job that they came back at $175 for. She kindly refused even though I was insulted at their price. After she had left and was in her car one of the men came out and stopped her to ask if she would let them do it for $110. Again, she refused, though now it was based on principle considering that they were trying to run her over on pricing. The job is now being completed for a total of $25 not by this company, thankfully. I recommend you pass on this shop for one that will at least attempt to offer a reasonable markup instead.
- NNicole Hengstler
Unhelpful, uncaring, and down right rude. I recieved a window regulator from Allen's, took it home and installed it. The part did not work. Allen's refused to return the part, as they only honor exchanges. However, I am trying to repair my wife's car before she works tomorrow and currently the window and door panel is removed from the car. Tom actually said to me that I'm choosing not to wait to fix my car not that I can't wait 3 days for a new part to come in. Who says this to a customer?! If you only honor exchanges, then carry more than one of a part. Your policy shouldn't inconvenience your customer for 2 or 3 days.
