Gundie's Auto Recycling JunkYard Reviews
3.3 stars based on 30 reviews- JJoseph Tein
Tried repeatedly to contact them about our damaged '95 Camry that I'm hoping they'll buy for parts. I had given up hope, but finally heard back from Chris, who sounds efficient and courteous. At this point, negotiations are commencing, so this review is a work in progress. I'm happy that they got back to me; we'll see how the transaction goes. Stay tuned!

Was looking for parts for my Ford Expedition. They had all of them and phoned me when ready to pickup. Was worth the drive. From Canada. Thanks!

I can't believe I got strung along by an automotive recycler but here we are. Email community was good up until they told me their tow truck driver was gonna call and set up towing for my junk car. Got no call or if I did it wasn't from any local number that I assumed was spam. Heard nothing for a few weeks, not even a message on my phone, so I emailed them about the situation just to be told that they are no longer buying and towing junk cars. I am willing to admit that my communication could have been more prompt about reaching out but this is just bad, lazy customer service. I wanted to believe that my experience wouldn't be the same as some of the reviews but I guess I shouldn't have been so naive. Very disappointing.

GREAT experience here at Gundie's. Dan was the sales guy we talked to. Helen was helpful with the front desk when we received our part.

Poor customer service and management that changes prices AFTER you have paid for your part. Ordered a part from these guys. Spoke to Ethan who was friendly and helpful. They determined they did in fact have the part at one of their other locations. As it was a non inventoried part, we agreed upon a price, charged my card and finalized the order. Approximately 1 week later, I received a text message saying that my part was ready to ship however, the manager at the location the part was at, Matt wanted more money for it. And we aren't just talking $10 or $15. They now wanted to charge me nearly 3 times more than the original agreed upon price. I was told he found the part selling for $200 when our agreed upon price was $60 so he now wanted $170 AFTER they had already charged me. I sent multiple images showing that the part was being sold consistently for $70-80 used and that a brand new one could be had for $110. Ethan was apologetic and agreed that it was not right. He said he wished he could honor the deal we made but that it was out of his hands and that there was nothing that could be done if I didn't want to pay the $170 after Matt said so. I called and attempted to speak to the general manager John, however I was told, "they were having phone issues and they couldn't transfer the call to him but that he would call me back". Guess what, never received a call back. I purchased from them as I had done business with them before and all was great. Ethan was a pleasure to work with however, it seems that management has no integrity or care about their customers. Pretty poor practice to make a deal, charge someone, then come back and refuse to honor the deal if more money was not paid.

I have used this facility for a few years now. My favorite salesman is Ken- always cheerful, positive attitude, always tries to help me find parts that I need. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for newer car/truck/van or SUV parts. Pictured is my new addition with several parts that came from Gundies! Thanks, Ken! 😎
- AArie Vander Zouwen
Had the parts I needed. Good pricing and service.

How busy are you that you make people wait for over 10 minutes and then where did they learn the phone etiquette of just saying what they have to say and then calling it a day? Is he really showing off that he is doing something ignorant like someone who grew up without even receiving an elementary education? The company doesn't even teach basic etiquette... I really don't want to contact a company like this again. Everyone, don't waste your time and contact another junk company.

Had ordered a glass for my car came in perfect condition very well protected. Highly recommend.

I have made multiple phone calls to this business trying to purchase the part I need. I was told over the phone that they have exactly what I need. It is supposedly in excellent condition. I have spoken with them multiple times requesting the price for the part plus shipping cost. I was told they would be calling me back that day. Still haven't heard back from them and it's been 2 days. The sales rep they keep connecting me to is rude and just seems like he's not the least bit interested in making a sale. I don't understand how these people stay in business because my experience so far is that they are terrible to do business with.

Affordable, courteous and accommodating I needed a part for my 2015 mini cooper. Got what I needed without the hassle of going to the dealer David made it easy. From a grateful Navy submarine vet

I'm posting this because everyone needs to be aware of companies doing dirty business in our small town. This was completely unacceptable and shouldn't be allowed to happen to us hard working individuals. If they did it to me then they have done it to others and I hope everyone comes forward. Money is tight for all of us and a lot of us are just barely making it as is so hopefully this makes them realize they need to stop stealing from a small town community. They preach how they are making this world a better place to live by selling good quality used parts at a reasonable price that helps the economy and recycle vehicle parts instead of making new parts. In the fine print you will notice they are really just stealing our money and telling us to F#$% off when you inquire about the 101 day warranty on used parts (Their new slogan should be F#$% you, it's your fault its broken no refunds or exchanges)
- JJonah Vick
I would gladly recommend Gundies to anyone. They have a large inventory of parts from small cars to big trucks, and they have helped me find parts for all of my vehicles. Even if they don't have a part in stock they are very helpful in finding one.

I ordered 4 wheels which had to come from one of their other yards on a Thursday morning and they were ready for pickup at the Bellingham yard the next day! Three were very good but one seemed to have more damage to the flange than I expected. I took it back with my receipt the next Monday. It's suspected that it was miss-classified as B when it should have been a C. Luckily they had one in the Bellingham yard and they exchanged it for me no problem. I'm a happy camper! David was very helpful to work with on the original sale and the exchange. Thank you?
- SSteve Cobb
They sent me one headlight new and the other headlight, old and cloudy. It would have been nice to get matching headlights.... that's if anyone cares!!! All they had to do is look at the difference in clarity that isn't too much to ask!.!.

Good customer service in store. Little rude guy on the phone, he rashes when you call them and try to explain your situation and part you need by saying I have other customers waiting on the line. I feel like he gets paid by volume of sale. Easy return policy and you can drop to any nearest Gundie’s store

So far, my rating has been going down in relation to my last unresolved order. I called for an alternator for an '02 Dodge Grand Caravan almost a week ago. It's desperately needed. The salesman said it'd take 2-3 days. As mentioned, it has been 6 days. I called yesterday and they didn't take ownership of the problem and when I called just now, the guy who answered chose to shunt me to voicemail rather than bother helping resolve this issue. They've already lost any possibility of a 5-star rating, unless they decide to install the alternator. I'm still willing to upgrade my rating to a 4, but they are actually going to need to engage in customer service to get that.

It’s nearly impossible to get hold of some to order parts. I clearly see that there is three people available in that chat, but no one is responding to my request it’s like they don’t care. Sorry Gundie's Auto Recycling but i will give you 2/5 stars. All I can say about this place is they have poor costumer service. And some of the parts that this place sell are not best deal. You can literally pay the same amount at dealer for new part.

Very poor customer service, do not recommend, very rude communication

What happened to this place? Been getting parts for 20 years, spent 10s of thousands on engines and everything else. They are rude and self entitled. Are you not in the service industry? It was never like this before. They offer no help, cut you off right in the middle and talk over you. I tried talking to somone else and couldnt even say anything without getting cut off. Im done with this place.I will never get anything from there again. Neither will my customers.
Purchased a motor from these guys and had a shop install it. Right off the bat it started knocking. Called these guys back and they wanted to hear the engine in person so they sent out a rep from the battleground wa location and he flat out said yep its junk. They said they would make it right if I paid the shop to remove the engine again and return it instead of just taking my original motor that ran better then the one I bought. If you want quality service don't waste your time here.

I'm not someone who enjoys posting 1 star reviews, however I feel the need to share my experience. I purchased a differential locker from these guys (Micah) and briefly inspected it before purchasing at the listed price as I expected them to be fair. I noticed some surface damage and I asked if the locker was functioning properly, and was told that the part had been tested and it works etc. etc. no issues with it. I trusted what I had been told, that it had been tested and it did work. A couple months later I got the locker on the bench, and upon further inspection I realized that I was lied to. The locker case had been damaged beyond repair, making the unit unusable, and when I tried to contact the manufacturer, I was told that they do not machine the case that way anymore, thus I could not buy a replacement. Upon reviewing my receipt I noticed their "All parts subject to 30% restocking fee" Warranty only good for X months disclaimers. I tried calling a couple times, and no solution was offered. These guys scammed me for $500 and I would expect that's how they do business normally, absolutely dishonest and unacceptable. You've been warned, take your business elsewhere folks. Edit for these jokers; You knowingly sold a defective part, you told me that it had been tested prior to being listed for sale. There is a crack where the airline piece enters the carrier; this would not hold pressure/air so you (Micah) saying it was tested and is functioning is an outright lie. Your receipt states a 6 month warranty on defective parts, which is exactly what you sold me; lies, and a defective part.

Called and asked for a price match on roof rack cross rails, reasonable price, guy I spoke with was rude and hung up on me. I suggest trying Farrell’s Auto Wrecking in Mount Vernon. I’m paying much less buying from them. Edit: I was not pushy on the phone. I told who I spoke with that the part I found was not aftermarket and he hung up. He did not recommend Farrell’s. I stand by my review and it appears to be consistent with other reviews here 🤙🏻

I usually don’t leave bad reviews but they have HORRIBLE customer service. Purchased parts for my car and when i came to pick them up it was missing one part so i asked for a refund. It’s been 5 weeks and i haven’t received a refund and when i call them they tell me they will call me back. I am on the phone with them right now and have been waiting for 40min.
- JJose
Just because i saw all the comments of people i dont want to buy here. They really have to hire people with a good customer service skills, no body wants to talk with a rude cocky sales man. I hope bussines owners do something about it. TIP for free lol "never say no to a customer, find solutions" remember customers pay y'all bills.

This place is a JOKE. Just got off the phone with one of the "sales staff". I provided the stock number of the vehicle they had in stock. They Quoted me higher than OEM for a Third brake light assy and then refused to sell me other specific parts I needed of this vehicle that they CLEARLY have in stock. Shortly after I was hung up on when I asked if they actually sell used parts or what's the deal here? Never have I ever seen such a poor way to run a business. Will be sure to never spend a dollar with this unfortunate excuse of a business. And just to follow up I called Kitsap Truck & Auto and they sold me the same exact Third Brake light for Half of the Price of what you guys are asking. So, anyone reading this do yourself a favor and go Elsewhere!!!!
- HHuman
I have emailed them and called them many times in the past looking to find parts for project cars and everytime I either get hung up on or no response. It comes across as if they do not want business from people. Some friends have had great experiences with them but not me. Also, their website part/vehicle search is a mess and a half.
- DDave Sharp
I don't have in person experience at this place. But, every time I call to inquire about a part, each person that I've spoken to always seems short (tempered) and upset. This is not a bad review but rather an observation.
- BBernhardt Krause
I called asking about a certain part I needed for my vehicle. After confirming that they did not have the part I was requesting, I asked them if they had any of the same model car on their lot. They simply repeated they didnt have the part and then hung up on me. Upon calling back I was able to speak with an employee who answered my questions politely, but the first employee was rather rude.
- BBill Anderson
They had a part I needed in stock but told me they don’t know when they can remove it off the vehicle. 1 day or 1 month they don’t tell you . Takes less then 1 hour to remove a cv axle but “THEY DO NOT KNOW”. Wow what a Mickey Mouse business . Unacceptable! Reply to your comment : Unfortunately I am too far to show you some true skills otherwise I would accept your job offer and treat the customer professionally and not rude . Also help you have better reviews instead of your 3 star ratings that speak for themselves. Lastly I suggest you to hire your wife or husband so you keep the money in the family so your company can grow more with your fraudulent activities you conduct . You have an available part for sale on car-part .com but then tell your customers it’s not available . That is false advertising . Learn how to do business the right way with honesty and not the shady way.
