“In the exact same shape that it was when it came through the gate” they said mere moments after my suburban was mistakenly towed off to be crushed through “community enrichment” and they in fact broke into it ransacked what was inside stole personal effects even knowing I was coming to reclaim my property… charged me a fee for storage too but they forgot to re lock the passenger side. Completely disgusted by this and they’ve just lost a loyal customer of over 25 years… their just as bad as chief executive jp Gallagher and mr Ed Randall. Greed good ol boys and organized crime… I would go straight to prison if I did any of the things these guys did to me. Unfortunately nobody can or will help our community so we ensure this poisoned reign of butte silver bow… the federal government needs to look much closer at the people that truly should be facing indictment in this community, because it’s closer up the echelon than thought. Help us!

I stand steady on a home scale with a bag of crushed, clean, bone-dry, aluminum cans in each hand. Cans and I total 220 pounds.The scale resets, and I weigh just myself. I'm 183 pounds.So 220 pounds minus 183 pounds gives 37 pounds (because math)37 pounds of crushed, clean, and dry aluminum that lived, died, and were crushed, indoors on carpeted surfaces before being confined to two bags. I was looking forward to my modest reimbursement for these 37 pounds of aluminum.It's not about the money relay, it's about resource conservation and doing what I can to help humanity find our way to the stars some day. Or just adding valuable aluminum atoms to a highly-controlled billet block that would later be machined into a single solid aluminum racing wheel that breaks the new land speed record in the Nevada desert. Because America!However, the magic scales at Pacific Steel and Recycling in Butte are much better at crushing human incentives to recycle.When my 37 pounds of pristine aluminum had been evaluated by Pacific Steel & Recycling scales, I was told it was, in fact, only 18 pounds.Understandably, I was SHOCKED! I asked if they had applied a correction algorithm to account for variations in manufacturing processes, aberrations in the wall thickness observed between aluminum bottles vs. cans vs. removable lids, etc...Or even adjustments made for evaluation methods between wide -mouth vs. side-venting consumption apertures. Surely, some justifiable and science-based reason must exist to have a scale that ignores more than half the observed mass being simply disregarded!Or maybe I'm just trying too hard to believe Pacific Steel & Recycling is incapable of deception, would never intentionally use bad measuring equipment, and has never accidentally underpaid hundreds of customers for such petty amounts that it could poison the minds of well-intentioned environmentalists into never recycling with them again.
