As a boy in the mid 60's, I was invited to vacation on this island for a week living with the old Portuguese shepherder who caretook for the Forbes family. A real world child's fantasy; this island is magical, remote, mysterious, no electric power, the ancient stone house with dark bedrooms - one where lore had it that a man hanged himself - an inland fresh water pond, a small natural bay populated by sand sharks, Quahog clams for foot digging when the tide went out, Japanese blueglass ball net floaters amongst the flotsam and jetsum along the beaches. Even the wrecked radial engine of a WW2 airplane on a hill overlooking the island. - What a great sweet memory!

This is a remote Island and one of the three main "Elizabeth Islands". No one comes here at all except by boat and is where my boyfriend and I come to catch our large Striped Bass in September especially! You're literally NOT allowed on the island but you can certainly fish their waters. (And we also sneak on the island for a minute to take a look, too). It's so remote and untouched. Gorgeous!
