I stopped by Pride Automotive for a quote on a thermostat replacement because my 2017 Jeep Patriot has multiple symptoms that strongly point to a thermostat or related cooling system issue: -The heater doesn’t work, the AC works fine -Gas mileage is significantly worse than normal (nearly 10 MPG lower on the highway) -The engine takes an unusually long time to reach operating temperature -The radiator hoses get hot while the engine itself stays cold -The vehicle slightly shudders when accelerating from a stop, which can happen when engine temperature data is incorrect and fueling is affected These are well-documented symptoms of a failing or stuck-open thermostat on this model and year of vehicle, even when no check engine light is present. Instead of listening or inspecting the car, the receptionist mocked me for mentioning that I had used an AI tool to help understand possible causes. I was then spoken to extremely rudely by the owner, who dismissed everything I said outright, without ever looking at the vehicle. What makes this especially frustrating is that I already had a bad experience here. In the past, they charged me over $3,000 for work on a Volvo wagon and failed to diagnose a thermostat issue that ultimately led to a blown head gasket shortly after I got the car back. I came in hoping to give them another chance because my shop of choice was closed. That was clearly a mistake. Between the dismissive attitude, lack of basic diagnostic effort, and previous costly misdiagnosis, I will never return and strongly recommend others avoid this shop as well.

We came in from a road trip and still had several hours to get home. We decided to stop and get our car looked at. They put us as a priority to get fixed and out of here. Super quick, really friendly AND they did cleaning and such for us. 5 stars is simply it enough for this crew. Robert the owner is the best!
