We took my van in, as soon as they opened, on a recent Friday morning, to have the air conditioning checked because it wasn't blowing cold enough, and to have my tires and alignment checked because the van would rattle pretty badly when I drove it. And the problem was only getting worse. They said they might need to keep the van over the weekend. I said that was fine. I just wanted to get these problems taken care of because the rattling was of great concern. I got my van back the following Monday morning. They told me that they couldn't find anything wrong with any of the problems that I'd brought it in for. They said the AC was working just fine. They said that John drove it and that he checked the tires and couldn't find any cracks or bulges on any of them. According to John, the van drove just fine. No rattling. None of that made any sense to me, and so I took it to another mechanic out in Abilene, who I knew was honest and someone that we could trust. They checked the van over, thoroughly. They called me to tell me that my air conditioning needed a full servicing (it's a 2005 and I don't think that the air conditioning had ever been serviced) and was possibly short on freon, which it was. And the worst part was, that they told me that my right front tire was separating and that it had several bulges and cracks. They said that it was not safe to drive. They did all of the necessary work on it and put new tires on the front and back. Now my air conditioning works great and cools the van as it should. And my van drives very smooth since I had all the tires replaced. I find it very hard to believe that John even so much as took the time to look at my van, considering what the other shop found. How could something like a separating tire, possibly get missed, by an experienced mechanic? We went to AJ's because we try to keep our money in Merkel, and they had good reviews and seemed to be trustworthy. We've done business with them before, for small things. But we will never do business with them, again. Either they lied to me, or they simply don't know what they're doing. Either way, they lost our trust. I will add one thing. The day after I got my van back from AJ's, I had to drive out to Abilene because I had several errands that absolutely had to be taken care of and could not wait. Let me tell you, I was sweating and praying all the way there and all the way home, because that van was rattling even worse than when I first brought it to AJ's, and I was very afraid that the wheels were just simply going to fall off the van and I was going to end up in a terrible accident. The mechanic that we took it to in Abilene said that I was lucky that nothing bad happened when I was driving it, because it was in a very dangerous condition.

Had to get a serpentine belt for my impala. They did everything possible to save me money and offered me the best advice based on my needs. Said service would be a hr but I was in and out no more than 45mins. Had a nice chat during the walt. Although I'm not from the area I would definitely recommend their services for anything big or small.
