I dont fault him because he can't replace a Jeep clutch, but because he charged me thousands in the end for a job he simply lacks the skill for. I faced felony theft of service charges. Up to 10k in fines and 2 years in jail. Because I insisted the transmission shop assess the problem before I paid the 9 hours labor for a clutch replacement that ended up in worse shape than when he took it in. That's another story. When I finally agreed to pay the entire bill, he refused and forced payment of much more. He accumulated enough "pasture storage fees" to bring the amount to $2900, a felony, then filed. Legal, but ethical? For storage in his damn pasture because he wouldn't release the Jeep. $2900 and he not only couldn't replace the clutch. He botched the job. He actually did more damage. He put in "way more than 9 hours" finding problem after problem and he finally said it needed to go to the transmission shop because it had too many problems he couldn't figure out how to fix. It turned out that the "many problems" was just a Jeep clutch & bearing replacement and is above his skill level. Chance at Texas Transmissions Exchange in Stephenville pulled the transmission and fixed the botched job for $750. Very reasonable. Blaze Bryant may be good at minor repairs, but never take him anything that requires a level of skill above a backyard shade tree mechanic. Here's the aerial of the "lot" he charged $1620 to "store" it on when he refused to let the transmission shop look at it. It's not exactly a limited space high value lot in the middle of town. It's his own pasture several miles out. It didn't cost him a dime to "store" it.
