While this salvage yard offers reasonably priced niche parts—such as a trunk mat, scissor jack, and emblem badge—and allows local pickup in Rock Springs, its operational and customer service shortcomings far outweigh these benefits.<br>Customers cannot enter the yard to browse, severely limiting options for broader searches (e.g., a 4.9L inline-six from 1960–1990 Fords). Despite frequent visits, I observed declining professionalism. The tow truck service, for instance, arrived four hours late. When I inquired, staff replied, “He works off his own schedule.” The driver also lacked payment for a titled salvage vehicle, forcing us to detour to the main office for a check.<br>Attempts to purchase a truck were equally frustrating. The owner was unreachable, no VIN or photos were provided until days later and after asking multiple times, and they demanded $1,200 for a non-running vehicle without a title. Similarly, a vehicle advertised on their YouTube channel lacked an engine, drivetrain, electrical system, and had severely rotted upholstery—yet was presented as viable.<br>The owner is rarely present and, despite claims of expertise, the staff appears under-resourced. Only one yard worker handles part pulls, completing roughly 15 per day—often fewer than six by the time I arrive. Employees grow quiet and disengaged when questioned or when fulfilling simple requests (e.g., retrieving a pre-paid scissor jack).<br>The business forfeits revenue by not charging an entry fee or accepting card payments—I always paid cash in full. Though they claim to ship nationwide and cite “tight inventory control” and “EPA contracts” as reasons for restricting access, these policies seem more convenient than necessary. After all, UPS, USPS, and FedEx do not routinely visit remote salvage yards.<br>Recommendation: Consider Green River Auto Wrecking in Green River, WY. The owner, known as “Cowboy,” allows customers into the yard—a far more convenient and transparent experience.

I drove 300 miles out of my way to get a part that they have available. Couldn’t get them to do 15 minutes of work and go pull the part. Nice to drive 300 miles and be within 50’ of a part that I need, cash in hand, but leave empty handed. Not sure I understand your business model Auto Recyclers.

John and Auto Recyclers came to my rescue and I’m so grateful! I was in an accident north of Rawlins and the police (Sergeant Jim Rhea) contacted John and he was able to tow me to Walmart Tire Center in Rock Springs, Wyoming and even checked to see if he had a replacement tail light and bumper in stock for me. So…once I could drive again on a replacement tire, I was able to drive to Auto Recyclers and they installed the replacement tail light for me and also attached the replacement bumper to my bike rack. I’m so grateful!
