This company is scum. I’m currently in college and working a minimum wage job, so money is already tight. I got home late one night after an 8-hour shift and parked where I always park, in the back where no one else parks. I didn’t realize at the time that I was slightly over the white line. When I woke up for class, my car was gone. After scrambling to find a way to get to class and back, I then had to find a ride 20 minutes out of the way to this trash yard of a towing company. When I got there, I was forced to wait outside next to a busy road in front of a locked gate. The woman working there was rude and wouldn’t even let me in until I paid what little money I had saved from working($243). There was no understanding, no flexibility, just a payment demanded upfront. The whole experience felt unjust and completely unnecessary over something so minor. (Reply to the response under this) you can use your legally correct position to sound better but you know at the end of the day you took $250 from a college student for being over a white like in the back of a parking lot. Get a real job and learn how to earn real money and not just take from others

This may seem like a "fake 5 Star review" but I can assure you it is NOT A FAKE REVIEW. Long story short, my apartment complex improperly towed my truck while I was on my trip over the holidays (Towed on 31 Dec / 1 Jan, recovered 6 Jan, cost approximately $650). For context, the apartment complex openly admitted they did not properly look up my vehicle AND they also admitted they did not notify me in any way such as email, phone call, or text message. Yes my vehicle is on my lease as well. I have no idea who was at the desk in the office as of me writing this review (6 Jan 2026) but they were nice, professional, knowledgeable, and courteous to me over the phone and in person despite my fustration at my apartment complex. They were even perplexed it was labelled as "abandoned". The tow truck drivers who towed my vehicle did not make any additional damage than what was already pre-existing to my truck. They actually took care of it. My only "complaint" would be is if the tow warning sticker was installed by RC Towing (odds are they did not put the sticker on the window) that it would be a sticker that is easier to remove and doesn't leave so much residue / backing behind on the window. But odds are the complex put it on there. I thank you to this place for working with me to get my truck back and being patient on me by allowing me to reinstall the battery into my truck. Thank you RC Towing for the help on getting my vehicle back & if I am in need of an actual towing service, I will definitely be adding this company to the top of my list of places to call.

Edit to respond: Our original call was at 9:17am and we were offered an appointment almost 2 hours later (we were on our way, till we were told no one would be there), which is against County ordinance. You are responsible to follow regulations and that has nothing to do if someone gets towed. Those are two separate factors. STOP BLAMING OTHERS FOR YOUR FAILURES! RC Towing and Recovery is out of compliance with Hillsborough County ordinance No. 17-34 section 11 "(4) That the towed or immobilized vehicle or vessel can be picked up within one (1) hour of request." Today, we called at 9:17am to let them know we are on our way to pick up our car. The lady on the phone said it was appointment only and the next appointment available was 11am, which is 1hr and 43 minutes after we notified them we are picking up the vehicle. Conveniently for them their card machine was down so they were only accepting cash or money orders which conveniently limits time stamps, but I have trip data and call logs to back up my claims. Intial call made at 9:17am (call log), Wife called when she was there at 10:30am (call log and trip data), they did not leave till 11:17am (trip data) I see from reading the reviews posted here, this is not an unusual occurrence. I am going to file a formal complaint and will be reaching out to the contract holder as well. The hypocritical nature of this company is laughable. Throughout the reviews from others, the business owner mocks people for having to pay the fees due to not following the rules when parking, yet RC Towing cannot follow the rules for the business they are operating.
