We went to Stepp’s Towing today to release my car, which had been in an accident on Wednesday. The police unfortunately had it towed to this place. I had been in the hospital recovering from surgery, but was finally able to go there today. Since the accident was my fault, I didn’t report it to insurance and planned to sell the car as salvage to an auto recycling company. From the moment we arrived, the whole place felt extremely shady. When I asked what fees I needed to pay, they told me it would be over $400. I was shocked — the car had only been there from Wednesday to Monday, just 5 days. The woman at the front desk was kind and suggested we call the main office for clarification. After three unsuccessful calls and being transferred around, we finally reached someone. Once she looked up the file, she suddenly claimed the total was actually $711. We were stunned. We called trying to understand why the price was so high, and instead it jumped by $300 with no real explanation. They kept insisting that “insurance will pay,” even after I repeatedly told them I did NOT file a claim and was simply scrapping the car. Because of my medical condition and exhaustion, I just needed to get this over with. I ended up selling the car to a salvage company for $500 and paying Stepp’s $700 for only 5 days of storage. The entire experience was extremely disappointing. I never imagined a business like this could operate this way in the U.S. — inconsistent fees, poor communication, and no clear justification for the charges. I sincerely hope others don’t go through what I did… Unfortunately no less than one star to rate otherwise I would rate ZERO.

Worst towing company ever. Terrible service. Had me waiting for hours without telling when I can expect my tow. And when I called back they were very rude and unprofessional. I will never recommend them to anyone.

Absolutely terrible service. We called for a tow service today was told it would be an hour. No update but got text driver was on their way at 15:25 after over an hour still noting. I called again and was told they’d have to look into it. I’m then told that the driver was stuck at the last stop and they couldn’t send another driver. We had to wait over 4 hours for their driver to show up when we were told he was only 6 miles away. He finally arrived after 20:00. It’s now 21:22 and the vehicle finally reached our drop off location and I get a bill for 3.5 hrs and a fuel sue charge and a 3% charge for a total of $540!! He was only 6 miles away and it took over 4 hours for home to get to us. I then called for a credit or something as our employee waited for hours on the side of the road as we’re being told oh he’s 30 min away. it will be less than 10 min. They kept giving us lies about how far away he was then were told he was stuck in sand that why he was late!?!? I would never use them again. Absolutely ridiculous and terrible service.
