We got into a car accident and somehow, the worst part of it all was dealing with this tow company. Our insurance (Geico) automatically assigned Val-U Auto (another tow company based on Owego) to carry our car from this lot to a collision center. Unbeknownst to me, we had stepped into an episode of “Rural Tow Truck Wars.” It turns out that Val-U Auto and Meyer’s Towing have some beef, and they refuse to work with each other. Therefore, the burden of this falls on the consumer to navigate. There is no signage, no information posted anywhere about this. In addition, I was appalled by the total lack of professionalism. I was spoken down to, treated as incompetent, and actually scolded for the whole situation, as if I was a child. Mind you, it was my first car accident in my life, and Camillus PD automatically towed our car to this lot. In addition, it was disturbing to overhear a conversation by staff in the back room discussing using “expired toothpaste,” and then an employee walked up to me with a large wet spot on her shirt, with toothbrush in hand.

Got picked up after a wheel bearing broke. Had an incredible experience and was promptly taken care of. Both gentlemen who worked with me were friendly and made sure I was safe. Thanks to them, I was able to continue my trip after a few hours of downtime. Thanks!
