Fun and educational place. We went here as part of the wagon tour. Spent about 40 minutes and didn't see everything, so could have spent more time exploring. The rifle demonstration was pretty cool!

Fort Mackinac was a neat experience throwing you back to a period of time in history getting to see the houses & living quarters of members of the Military. We even got to see artillery fired. People are dressed up for the time period. Beautiful views. Dog friendly. Restrooms available. Concessions available. Views and fresh cool Lake breeze was enjoyable. We purchased a carriage ride package that included the butterfly house, Fort & Art Museum. Id recommend that but there was no wait & we got off a 2 horse carriage & got back on a 3 horse carriage that took us to tour the grand hotel/secret garden. Recommend! They spend a million dollars on flowers for the Secret Garden every yr!

Beyond the beautiful views and history, the Tea Room offers delicious food and drink options. After we ordered the Chicken Salad w/cherries sandwich and chips, they were happy to split it for the two of us on separate plates. Friendly staff and as mentioned the view from their veranda seating overlooking the harbor made our afternoon visit.
