Its a great place to visit if you want to learn more about the history of Birminghan . The metal industry was the main reason of why this small town of yesterday became the city of today. They have a nice visitor center and good small theater. Would recommend for a family visit.

A must see for any visit to the Birmingham area, and did I mention it's a free historical landmark experience ✨? Sloss furnaces represents a snapshot at America's rich metal work industry. Even if you only took a quick 20 minutes to stop by, I promise you will leave with a sense of wonder at the hundreds of people it took to work this giant and just how instrumental it was in the community! If you take in the full experience a (small museum and video showing, along with some indoor sculpture exhibits and gift shop) I'd estimate around an 1 1/2 hour experience. They also host metal casting classes, which is a rarity and gem in itself.

This is such an interesting tour and place to experience and feel Birmingham’s first 100 years. Wilamena was a fantastic guide - very knowledgeable, professional and entertaining! Highly, highly recommend the tour!
