I’ve been taking all my scrap metal to Saginaw Recycling for a good while now usually once a week on average, some months it ends up being three trips over a two week period. At any rate, I’ve been there and dealt with the people who work there more than a few times and have always been treated right, had a pleasant experience and always left there feeling like I was done fairly. I’ve been to quite a few scrap yards over the years in Birmingham alone from a few in Bessemer to Finley Blvd. to several just east of town and will always drive out of my way if I have to and go to Saginaw Recycling instead. Anyone who scraps or has scrapped various metals knows it’s very easy for the yard to take advantage of the situation and refuse to pay what you’re really owed for what type metal you actually have. Or pay you much less because you didn’t strip everything down and separate everything exclusively to their liking. I never get that feeling of being taken advantage of from Saginaw Recycling and never worry about getting cheated when I go there. These are just a few of the reasons they acquired my repeat business and I’m quite sure other people in the same situation feel the same way and use them on a regular basis just as I do.

I have been there 6 times. I honk the horn and no one is ever there. I call out and no one ever replys. They have no sign to tell you where they are and the neighbors aren't nice either. "I ant his boss, find out for yourself', people there say. Hateful. :( I want use them and I'll let people know they aren't good , don't waste your time.

I run a junk removal business, and on my way home after a long day of emptying my truck and dump trailer, my truck died in rush hour traffic, stuck in the median in Pelham and blocking traffic. I called Kirkland Wrecker Service, and they arrived very quickly. The driver was incredibly professional and efficient, lifting my work truck onto his wrecker and attaching his rig to my dump trailer to pull me back home. This guy is a scam artist the scrap yard 2 miles up the road pays .20cents more a pound. How is this guy still in business do yourself a favor drive the extra 2 miles

I have been to this location several times over the last few years. I can't remember a visit that was unpleasant. There are rules, I follow them. No issue. Recently (last couple of days), I was there purchasing parts for my son's car to restore it from a small accident. With making multiple visits within a short time frame, I got to know some of the staff. I just want to bring attention to Kam, Sarah, and Brittney. They were so helpful, friendly, informative, and just generally nice. I have been to a number of salvage yards in my life . . . and it is nice when the staff care about your needs and helping you to find them.

We hydroplaned on the interstate and alabaster police department called this company to tow our truck back to their shop until we could get it repaired. When I called alabaster police department the VERY NEXT DAY to figure out which towing company we needed to pick our truck up from, they told us and said that we were NOT allowed to pick up our truck for three days due to a report that needed to be processed by the state (by the way, I have yet to find out what “report” this was). The lady gave us a case number and said we had to have it in order to receive our truck. We waited three days, like the lady at the police department told us to do, and contacted wheelers wreckers to see if our truck was ready yet. Apparently, it was ready to be picked up the day OF the wreck. I then try to tell her our “case number” since I was told it was vital information I needed to pick up our truck and was told “um I don’t do case numbers. I don’t know what that is.” Okay.... then we go to get the truck and find out that since it had been sitting there for three extra days, the total amount charged was $670. (Even though we were TOLD by alabaster police that we could not pick it up for three days). We were on the way to my step daughters birthday party at the time of the wreck, so we gathered all of her presents that were in the truck when we were finally able to get it back so we could take them to her and saw that $20 was taken out of her birthday card. Never in my life would I think that someone could do something like that to a child. I refuse to use this company in the future and will never call alabaster police for any help ever again.

My daughters car was towed there after an accident. They told her that she couldnt drive her car off the lot because it wasnt driveable. I went there with her and then it was "drivable" They were going to charge her $100 to tow it to my home when it didnt have to be!

Would give 0 stars if I could. Called and asked for a specific part. They give me a part but off the wrong year car. One difference... there was a sway bar tab on the year car I own that was missing. I had someone else go pick it up for me and did not get to see it until the part was at my home. They knew this was the case keep in mind... I go back the next day to try and replace it and they didn’t have it. They then would not refund me. The part was picked and sold to my mother after being very specific about what I needed and they just made a mistake. No biggie but it is ridiculous to not make good on it... they tried to convince me that I should just put it on and not attach the sway bar and after that the thought I would let him weld a tab on there. No way. I don’t trust his judgement and measurements to the precision that they might need to be at. Especially seeing as how he was pissed with me. 0 stars

wow this is a gem in my local area (radius of 15 miles) that carrie's a large amt of junk cars. They have a large salvage yard full of cars that no longer run and they have access to Parts Galore! And gentlemen that go and search take off and bring to air conditioned office while you wait. Its not a guarentee your parts not there but the percentages are pretty pretty darn good. I would always give them a call first. the price for my part for me was very reasonable I don't know if it's because I told him I was a senior andon limited income but it never hurts to ask do you have a senior discount whenever you go anyplace.

We use Little Tire Hauling for our retail business. We like them because they are prompt and we can depend on them. They are also a local company so we can call or go by their office and deal with them if we need to. Great business!

Scrap is low during this week, but after loading a truck load of various garden tillers, 7 to be exact. 16 blowers and weed eaters, he offers $1.50 for each 100 lbs. I hauled it somewhere else and got $4.50 - 100 lbs. The week before, I had hauled scrap and 10 riding mower engines. She didn't tell me I could've got more $ by just selling the whole load as scrap, instead of separating breakage from scrap. They will rip you off if they feel they can. No honesty from these people.

Good Place and Friendly People.

I ordered a transmission from them about a week before X-Mas 2015. I had arranged for my mechanic to install it before X-Mas because I had planned on driving my vehicle to see relatives for the holiday. I went to meet the delivery driver to inspect the transmission, sign for it and leave my vehicle at the shop to have it installed that day. After I had specifically made sure they had the correct information on my vehicle, I was still sent an automatic. Not the manual 5sp. that I had made a point to be sure was correct. To their credit, they did place the correct order with the place that they got the tranny from, but they sent the wrong one anyhow. So, while technically it was not their fault, I'm still out 4 days of waiting and another 6 days to get the right one sent, so it forced me to rent a car. It finally did arrive on 12/28/2015 and it was in good working order but when I looked at my invoice receipt, the shipping cost had dropped $25 because of the weight difference of the two transmissions. By then I was so frustrated that I didn't even bother trying to get a reimbursement. Again, as I said, it wasn't their fault that the wrong part shipped, but in the end, I did pay them a $250.00 finders fee, so that's none of my concern WHY the wrong one was shipped, but I'm the one that got screwed for it and I feel like I should have been compensated for them wasting my time and causing me to rent a car. If you do use them, be sure to read the terms and conditions , but I won't be doing business with them any more.
