FOR TRUCKERS: Friendly people but loading area is littered with metal. Of course this is a scrap yard but at least clean up the dock area. Found a nail and screw in my tires while getting loaded. Getting loaded 2hrs and counting. Best to avoid this place

I had asked if they had junkyard parts online, due to fact they won't allow anyone to freely look around. The office attendant responded to go to carparts.com. I had asked carparts.com if they had a portal to Lajoie's auto & scrapyard for viewing, and the site assistant has no records of Lajoie scrapyard.

They told me the price for copper would be 3 dollars, but when I brought the pipes, they calculated all of it at 2.50. They said one of the pipes is dirty (even though it wasn't) and downgraded the whole batch just because of that little piece of (what they call) a dirty copper. Not satisfied.

Horrible place to deal with, drove 7 hours round-trip for a 2007 Chevy dump truck after he sent misleading pictures to find the bed is rotted lights hanging out of it, the main truck frame is broken from improper hoist frame mounting the bumper and receiver hitch are barely being held on I wouldn't drive this truck two blocks much less 3 1/2 hours home he promised me it would make it, there is overspray paint everywhere from a quick rattle job to hide everything, one tire was completely flat, I don't know how you could sleep at night trying to sell something like this.

Ive never been paid better at a scrap yard then when I went here. The owner was super nice and took great care of me. If you’re looking for a scrap yard this is the place

I had not been to SIMS in @ 8 years, I went this morning . I could not recall the process. the cashier was very nice and explained the process. the men in the 'bay' were friendly , helpful ,& professional . in and out in 20 minutes. returned to the cashier- what a quick stop. appreciate the good service. thanks ( & 10 am ). I have done business with them several times and always was happy with their service. Recently I got a rear bumper from them and I was surprised how nice it was and the color matched perfectly and I didn’t have to paint it. Usually bumpers at junkyards are in rough shape from yard damage.

Great place to sell scrap metal, cars, great prices on used parts, I’ve scraped many cars and purchased two engines. One of the few that offer 6 months warranty on the engines.

They quoted us 160 a net ton on a 53' trailer delivered. After we paid to ship the thing, and they received it in the yard. They refused to honor the quote. We have email correspondence substantiating the matter. They basically changed their mind for no apparent reason. I would say its very unlikely they are operating a legitimate operation based on our experience.

Checked the online inventory TWICE to confirm they had the fender I was looking for. Using what I thought was a great system, I found a '96 fender that would work for my '97 Honda. I tried calling 3X before driving 30 minutes to get there, but got a busy signal each time, so I made the drive. Got to a parking lot that was totally full so I had to double park next to junk cars lined up waiting to be hauled into the scrap yard. Not so convenient, but they have a loudspeaker to call people back to their cars when they are parked in a bad spot. Got quick counter service, but was told that they most likely didn't have the part since at had been in the inventory since 2015, and I had a better chance of winning Lotto than finding the part. He said I should have called first. IF CALLING AHEAD WAS SO CRITICAL, WHY DON'T THEY HAVE THIS FEATURE CALLED 'CALL WAITING'? That's only been a feature of business phones since, OH --- I don't know --- ***1980*** ????? !!! What a waste of my time and gas. If you can't count on the accuracy of the online inventory system, WHY HAVE IT??? I would have to be REALLY desperate to go here again.... It's a shame, because the location is actually really good.

It needs to be specifically ordered for you because I don't have it in stock. They manipulate you that way. Because you are unable to return or exchange anything that is special ordered. That's not how business is conducted. Taking care of the people you serve is more important than robbing them. Never once more! To exacerbate the situation, individuals become aware of the policy only after receiving the receipt. Helping people, not making money, is the main focus of most businesses these days. Your policy is to maximize profits at the expense of the people you are trying to help. it is detrimental to businesses.

Another great visit/purchase at Tom’s. I needed a 01 Grand Cherokee alloy rim( 5 spoke “Hollander” type). With the great assistance from Mike at the counter- he found my exact rim. He graded it a B, I graded it a A- with barely a slight curb rash area. GREAT PRICE!! It’s going out for a chemical dip and all of my other rims to my powder coating guy.
