They told me the price for copper would be 3 dollars, but when I brought the pipes, they calculated all of it at 2.50. They said one of the pipes is dirty (even though it wasn't) and downgraded the whole batch just because of that little piece of (what they call) a dirty copper. Not satisfied.

Today I decided to support a local scrapyard. Unfortunately i see now why most rather taking the trip into NY. If you scrap on a professional level as i do, then you know how important PROPER pricing is. Today I brought in OVER 150 pounds of metal SEPARATED AND SORTED ACCORDINGLY. I brought in 300 mcm COOPER!! Over 50 pounds of that alone (ill attach the receipt for reference) over 50 pounds of YELLOW PIPE. Over 50 pounds of COOPER HEAP. And a small aluminum motor that barley weighed 6 pounds. Im breaking this down so you can understand how these crooks get over on you, especially if they think you don’t know what you’re talking about.after I WEIGHED EVERYTHING ON MY PERSONAL SCALE IN MY YARD I THREW EVERYTHING INTO MY CAR. I don't know how, but magically when i arrived my total weight was just over 113 pounds sheesh. Maybe my fast car burned the pounds off or something. I’ll let you be the judge of that one. So when the gentleman (who I’ll call COOPER POT) finally printed the first receipt, I didn’t look at it right away as ive been doing this since i was barely able to reach the kitchen counter, i know ball park how much everything was supposed to come put. As a matter of fact, i checked the scrap pricing (as i always do before i go to the scrap yard) and noticed everything was actually ip a bit fr yesterdays pricing. Cool! I thought maybe I’ll get a bit extra for lunch. If you didn’t know already, this information is free to whoever. Jist google current scrap metal pricing tri state area and plenty of information will pop up. The first receipt was for $148 I brought it to this gentleman that weighed me out that he had some serious miscalculations on my ticket. He replied “ you brought in brass cooper mix” I immediately told him that actually everything was already separated so it wasn’t mixed it was actually the YELLOW BRASS, AND IN A SEPARATE PILE WAS THE COOPER TUBING OR HEAP DEPENDING WHOS LOOKING. I walk by to retrieve my metal to re weigh it properly, and he had already instructed his workers to basically steal my hard earned metal. I use the term openly as this is exactly what they did. The stole over 47 pounds of COOPER, YELLOW PIPE, and 300 MCM COOPER WIRE ALL TOGETHER. If you know you math thats over $120 this company stope from me. DON’T DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS. DO DILIGENCE GOES FAR IN THIS PROFESSION. THIS GUY THOUGHT PENNY WISE. TOO BAD BECAUSE THIS WAS A TEST RUN BEFORE I BROUGHT IN MY ACTUAL LOAD SMH. Stay blessed felllow scrappers. Yours truly. TRAPPER THE SCRAPPER.

Being a construction worker and do it yourself person i have been coming here for years. Family business and everybody is so positive and helpful. Very fair . Again- really sincere nice guys here- every single one of them the owners and workers. Try to tip the workers if u can. They work extremely hard in broiling hot and freezing cold yet they always smile and greet you

Prices seem fair but the scrap yard is very small, and the staff puts a lot of pressure on you to move fast (get in, unload, park, weigh, and get out as fast as humanly possible). This can lead to mistakes about where your stuff ends up and how much you get paid for it. Other than that, the team is helpful when you don't know what kind of metal you have, but for best results you should sort your metals before you get there.

I like this place had alittle issue as far as what was insulated copper wire. One of the guys just put everything together and only gave me 55 cents a pound I called arther the manager he reviewed the tapes a gave me an extra 40 bucks and it's the third time it happened but besides that. There pretty good. If the skinny black guy is doing ur metal. Very fair and will answer any questions u may have. Bc if ur not knowledgable to what things are going for like anything else thell take advantage so know b4 u go. But def a good plAce they will guide u and help u unload and u will get a ticket and on there will b everything u brought and the price they gave u

This was the coolest experience- not having any experience in visiting scrap metal place - The gentleman waiting instructed me on the protocols and everyone waited patiently and was very friendly. The workers there are very helpful friendly and efficient. And the man that checked me out was very polite easy-going and welcoming. Decent prices and great experience highly recommend Bridgeport scrap!

Always watch the digital scale next to the computerand the numbers, I've had the younger guy try to cheat me out of a few pounds and punch in a different # then what the weight actually was...especially when it comes to copper and clean condenser fins

Don't go here, they robbed me practically with what they gave me for scrap cat 6 cable. 50 cents a pound, ridiculous. Just got .96 cents a pound for it at cable management in Meriden.
