First time going there. Employees were great . For every different scrap metal you cash in here is a fee for each one which I found a joke. They were secretive about the prices. Pay attention to the scales. I went to another scrap yard which paid a lot more than this place did in the same day.

Yard employees are 110% awesome. I dont like how secretive the pricing is. They always pay less than other recyclers. Ask anybody. Even brand new unused copper coiled up rarely gets its true value. They even fee you for a receipt. They are my last resort when scrapping.

Go somewhere else if you want true value for your metals. If copper even has a slightest green color to it, they say its #2. Wire any size that has been stripped of all plastic and coverings you get nothing for. That should also be #1 copper. there scale is 14 lbs off and they weigh your metal in portions so you will lose 14lbs every time. If your copper does not look new then it is #2 to them. My father has owned a scrap yard in Tennessee my entire life, I've been around this business for over 40 years now. I should have gotten $1185.80 for my metal and only walked out with $700.. I took the time to cut it up and separate everything precisely. I guess they are used to people coming in looking for a quick 20 bucks that pay no attention. But if you have hundreds of pounds of copper i would highly recommend you going elsewhere.

Ok, not as organized for a first time visit! The entrance is to the far left of the green fence! As you turn in, you will see the scale to your right! As long as it is completely clear ( no vehicle's ) on it, drive in bring the front of your vehicle near the loud speaker's on the left and right! And wait once the lady tells you that your good, all steel and general metal scrap goes to the left in a pile!! Dump that first! If you have copper, brass, or aluminum before you back up to the building near the garage door, you will have to go back in the scale first for the scrap metal! Then, once they say your good! Then you can pull over to garage door to get your money inside, that is if you don't have any other stuff like the copper and brass n all.. If you do there are a couple of people there that will get your copper brass or aluminum and put it in a blue bin if it's a sizable amount and roll it into the scale once you do that they'll ask for your driver's license and log it in and then send you around to the window to get paid and you'll have to show your driver's license again! So hopefully this is helpful to the newbies just be careful of the big trucks rigs semis they will clip you if they start backing up! We found out the hard way!! I've been to a couple other scrap yards throughout Maryland so this one's okay!

I actually hate this scrap yard, so much, with a passion Apparently Brass, pure Copper and Aluminum is "sheet iron"? Apparently #1, #2 and #3 sorted wire is combined as one? They didn't even weigh my motors unless they weighed them under sheet iron as well. The absolute hell? I was shorted atleast 25 to 30 dollars. I know my metals. I spend hours breaking down a pile of lamps, several of which were nothing but pure brass. Very old lamps. And it wasn't worth it because they either STOLE my metal, or the worker (fat Hispanic male) didn't know the difference between metals. Not happy, do not go here.

Although it is an easy place to salvage, and very honest, when I took a load of scrap I told them i would be back with a load of aluminum cans and they said ",alright, see you shortly". When I returned with the load of cans, a different guy was working, and informed me they no longer take aluminum cans, since the pandemic began. I mean, are they rolling in them or something? My point is, would they have taken them if the same guy was there? It was less than an hour when I returned. A little confusing. But don't bother taking aluminum cans!

Great bare bright prices. Everything else was low balled and when I asked questions about the sorting and types of aluminum I was told "It's all the same price" si sheet aluminum prices for extruded, cast, cans, 6060...... I assume are all the same price. MD recycling is a much better scrap yard

They say they take stuff then when you get there they say they don’t take it. It’s a wast of time to even go here. No one is on the same page you get told to do different stuff by different people and end up with a big headache after you’re done here. Banks is so much better and the employees at banks are so much more plent to work with then at this place. This place needs to get their act together!

Absolute horrible customer service. The lady who answers the phone was the worst customer service i've ever had. She was incompetent and beyond rude! I scrap a LOT of metal but this place will never get a single screw from me again because of her. If joppa salvage is reading this- its so simple to be nice on the phone and to hire someone who understands that the person calling, is what's keeping you in business. Basic business principles. This lady is losing you money and i'm SURE you are aware of who it is. You guys have like 4 employees. (This is the first bad review i've ever left. That's how bad my experience was)

Well my Boyfriend takes me there a lot when we have things to scrap or etc.. They are for one VERY CLEAN... Two the people there are very nice and have great sense of humor....THEY ALSO HAVE GREAT PRICES...compared too other places!!!!...,. Highly recommended this place but even if you are not sure what kind of wire you have make sure you figure it out before you go to any scrap yard because they will see you don't know and cheat you out of money by saying its poop wire when it's probably good wire like wire #1....so be CAREFUL WITH YARDS LOL

Usually they are great when I take stuff to joppa salvage but this experience I took 340 pounds of aluminum and it had no metal at all on any of it and yet they say it was dirty aluminum. I only got 0.10 a pound for it all . I got screwed live and learn think I'll have to take my business else where now . Joppa salvage can't be trusted now .
