I don't scrap a lot but out of convenience I use places that's close to me around the Pottstown area. It's mostly brake rotors, thin metal, control arms various suspension parts. The places in Pottstown have you drive onto the scale and give you one set price for the steel. However, Wilcox they will separate the two types of steel can give you the real value of what you bring over instead of lumping it all into one type. Also the places in Pottstown just have a base price for catalytic converters. The Wilcox they actually get the numbers off of them and they have a chart that will give you what that converter is worth. For example the places in Pottstown give me between 10 and $20 and they don't even get any numbers off them. It seems to me most places just pull an arbitrary number out of the air. From here on out Wilcox will get all of my scrap metal.
