Bought some steel next door, saw one of the tow guys in the steel yard and remembered he had an old Ford out front for sale for a long time. When I asked about parts he said he would only go out to the yard for specific items. When I found out he still had the truck in the back less the engine he said to go next door to the office and make a request for the parts. After completing the steel purchase, I went to the office to inquire about the parts and or purchasing the whole truck as well as the mid 90’s Chev pickup in the front. Same guy was sitting at the front desk acting like he couldnt be bothered and I was a mere inconvenience for walking in the door. When I said I’m here about seeing if the parts I wanted were available, with corn dog crumbs falling out of his mouth he stated “ I’m on my 15 minute break and it just started.” No offer to see if anyone else was available, no offer of hey I just went on break would you mind hanging a few minutes? No hey how’s it going, just flat I don’t care rudeness. So instead of selling parts or possibly a couple vehicles, I left without making any offers for the trucks or the parts. As a business owner myself, I would terminate someone for treating a potential customer wanting to make a purchase in such a manner. But the gal Nextdoor in the steel section is just awesome to do business with.

The owner, Gene, totaled my car while driving his tow truck and refused to provide insurance information multiple times over the course of weeks (illegal), or pay out of pocket like he promised he would. I was trying to do him a favor, but he took advantage of my kindness and was extremely difficult to work with, rude, dishonest, and dismissive. Fortunately his insurance settled with me for very close to the sum it took to repair, which Gene had previously refused. I would avoid doing business with him in the future.
