Advance Auto Salvage JunkYard Reviews

Don’t waste your money here. I have never been so repulsed by a salvage yard in my life. I have a customer that needed a transmission for his vehicle, sourced the transmission through them and then brought me the vehicle to install the transmission. The transmission they supplied him won’t move in any direction and has no line pressure at all. They don’t test parts before removing them from any vehicles obviously and now my customer and I are fighting with them about getting the labor covered since they sold him a junk transmission and was also told that they refuse to refund him his money on the transmission so we can source a transmission from another company. They said the only thing they will do is swap it out for another used unit that they have in stock but who’s to say this one isn’t going to be just as junk as the last one??? So now my customer is stuck paying labor twice, maybe even a third time if this “exchange” transmission is also junk?? Make it make sense! Just go spend your money at Manus road auto salvage! Great guys over there and EVERY component is test before removal and sale.

**BEWARE! DO NOT TRUST ADVANCED AUTO SALVAGE!** I had an absolutely horrible experience with this deceitful shop. Back in November 2019, I bought an Audi R8 motor for my Lamborghini from these guys. I dealt with a salesman named Paul, who assured me the engine had low miles and was running, yet conveniently couldn't provide the VIN. We settled on a price of $25k. Fast forward to May 2024, I had the engine installed only to find out it was a complete dud. To make matters worse, Paul no longer works there, and the owner has flat-out ignored all my emails and calls. The shop falsely claims there's a 30-day warranty on parts, but this is nowhere to be found on my invoice. I’ve attached the invoice to this review for proof—no warranty period mentioned at all. The owner’s refusal to call me to return an email. This shop is clearly out to take your money and run. I am warning everyone: DO NOT BUY FROM ADVANCED AUTO SALVAGE. Check the latest Google reviews—this place is a nightmare. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. I am reporting to the BBB and currently contacting a lawyer and consumer protection of Tennessee.

Bought a transmission on Oct 9th which was for a AWD, WHICH MY CAR ISNT. Had to wait a week to get the correct one. After 17 days of my car being in the shop, Ive had the car a week and the Transmission has blown again ( Nov 8th)… ive been told my ONLY option is a replacement which will cost 2,000$ in labor for the second time ( Bringing my total for this repair to a wopping 6,450$) as they won’t refund me. Today i went and got a brand new car( FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO SO DO, YOU MAY NOT BE SO LUCKY) id rather pay astronomical prices for a payment than TO ALMOST LOSE MY JOB, SPEND 750 a WEEK IN UBER TO GET TO SAID JOB , both of which have happened, because my car is in the shop and continues to break… My advice to you is JUST PAY THE DEALERSHIP PRICE, WHATEVER THEY CHARGE YOU. YOULL GET EXACTLY WHAT YOU PAID FOR AND IT WILL BE IN PERFECT CONDITION. Currently waiting on this replacement, so ill update you guys on how that goes. Hopefully this review won’t get me harassed and threatened like the last one, but I rather let you guys know before you are in my position UPDATE(11/11/2023) My bank has fully refunded me for purchase, after these guys told me my only option was a replacement and not a refund. MAKE SURE YOU PAY WITH A CREDIT CARD OR DEBIT CARD, NEVER CASH and you’ll be good. I feel so bad for the girl who answers the phones. These spineless men make her deal with all the unhappy people. Update 9/21/202.. They appealed the decision and had my card recharged again.. I have a new vehicle now as well as a Great career now since all of this so It’ll be laid swiftly. Again stay away from these guys.

It’s definitely 1 star, but guys were quickly responding, so i will give them 2. I ordered a rocker molding for my bmw with m package, that cost twice more than a regular one, i paid for a part with m package, but recieved regular part, and they mentioned in receipt it was with m-package. my car was in body shop, so my guys realized it was wrong part too late, when i called representative i was given an answer “7 days return policy, bye” So guys, check if they sending you the right part as fast as you can, or you will just lose your money.

Ordered a ABS Pump for 2009 Toyota Prius. Placed the order with Amanda. Firstly, I was shocked at shipping cost of $75. And when I asked I will arrange my own shipping, I was told a $15 packaging charge. Called next day to get an update if part was shipped. She was out of the office and left a message. Called the second day after placing order after didn't receive any update from her and was advised it will be send out tomorrow. 6 Days later called again to find out the part isn't available. Such a waste of my time. Not recommending this business to anyone and definitely not Amanda who can't even communicate.

First of all I want to start off by saying I never go out of my way to do something like this… But I have been buying parts for a year now from Advance and have yet to have received a part I was unsatisfied with. If you stop by this business ask for a gentleman named Paul Pash. This younger gentleman wastes no time helping you locate what you need weather you call or show up in person. Few months ago I was dealing with so called gentleman in person and despite the amount of calls he was receiving and the amount of customers in the store, (all while another customer was giving him a very hard time) you could tell this dude knows how to keep composure and proceed in probably the most professional manner I have seen in my 30 years of visiting salvage yards. 100% Will be ordering another engine if need be.

Tried to call, put on hold …. 10 minutes later I get someone on phone who comes and and says to please hold again! Sheesh

I ordered a part and waited for it for 8 weeks then he tells me he doesn’t have the part. Very bad business do not recommend . Rude and does not care about customer 0/5 stars. Do NOT RECOMMEND . He will waste your time

Ordered a set of headlight for a Land Rover, found out they were not the right ones but was refused a return because it was outside their 7 day return policy. We waited 5 days just for the items to arrive. Bad business, I would avoid buying from them.

Good people here. Very helpful and got the part i needed. This is to the people that are looking at reviews to determine whether you should buy from here or not. Looking at some of the reviews, I understand that a lot of people don't have the knowledge of an automotive technician. If you are buying parts from an establishment such as this, know what you need and why. I am not a business partner or anything other than a knowledgeable customer and automotive technician. I have not been paid to write any of this. Buying used or salvaged parts is for someone who knows what they are doing when trying to repair their vehicles. If you aren't really sure, ask a professional for help. The people who work here aren't getting paid to help you make decisions about your vehicle. They are in the business to provide you with the parts you are asking for. It is common practice for salvaged/used parts to not have a warranty/guarantee that they are 100% in working condition. If they do offer warranties/guarantees, then thank them for being generous. Most places will offer replacement if the item is "no good" when it is installed into your vehicle. Have documentation (video/paperwork) to back up your claims so that you can prove within reasonable doubt that you have not altered the part prior to installation. Electronics are not usually covered at all because other components on your vehicle can cause a voltage surge that fries a good electrical part of the system that you just bought. Hope this helps give you some more knowledge in the pursuit of your repairs.

I didn't end up buying the part I was needing. But I definitely want to say Shannon did an awesome job in locating the part. Unfortunately shipping costs put the part costing more then new from the Toyota dealer. Will call again in the future!!!

Absolutely worst place to get any parts. BIGGEST SCAMMERS in the junk yard world! Sold us the wrong part, when we tried to call to just exchange with the correct one, the sales idiot talking about not in their control. When I asked them who’s at fault for sending the incorrect part, they just kept saying it’s my responsibility. It was a roof airbag. It’s not something you can see and know it’s wrong. After the shop finished the body and went to do roof. They noticed the screws and how it’s mounted doesn’t match meaning it’s wrong. When we checked their part number on their airbag. We noticed it’s the wrong cars airbag. Called as soon as we noticed and the Paul saying it’s my responsibility and they won’t do anything and just hung up. COMPLETE SCAMMERS!! Don’t buy anything from them unless you feel like throwing money away!

Just had a very sketchy conversation with a employee named Mike he was rude and asked me like 5 times if I was the police. I was simply just trying to find out when the next discount sale is. But it appears as Tho they are more worried about me being the police than helping a customer.. your employee lied to you. Please review the phone call before responding to this review. I asked for the manager and I asked for tue managers name so I would know who I need to ask for when I called back. I did not ask anything other than that. And the rude employee MIKE refused.

Honestly one of the worst junkyard I have ever been to first of all you’re not allow to go inside only pic was shown to me. Went there for passenger side mirror gave them a call before going in . Employee said “he has a passenger side mirror . Drove half an hour and went there but he gave me driver side mirror. Instead of passenger side mirror Everything is expensive here and you can’t return anything here . They are a Scammer . I would not recommend anyone to go this place please do not go . They are the awful persons I have ever seen . If you care about your money and time PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE THEY ARE A SCAMMER !!!!!

Moe was super helpful and provided great communication when looking for parts. Posting vehicles and parts in Marketplace made it easy to know who I was actually dealing with. Not only were the parts EXACTLY as described, they are priced extremely well also. They even have master mechanics on site to assist with parts and answering any questions you may have. I will be dealing with this business for years to come now. Thanks again to Moe (Internet sales) and Moe (Master Mechanic) as well. Super good guys to work with.

Very unprofessional. Yasir is an employee here and he’s very disrespectful when talking to customers. I went to get a part and they were running behind on orders. They told me I can go and disassemble the part I need if I know how to. When I went to do so, he stopped me and treated me as if was stealing a part. When I questioned his aggressive attitude he took the paper out of my hands and said they don’t want to sell that part. No hard feelings; got the part cheaper 15 minutes later. However, I recommend going somewhere else if you want to be treated respectfully.

I had ordered a transmission from them through eBay. The transmission was not working properly upon installation. After contacting them the supervisor resolve the situation by sending out a replacement used transmission. Very understanding people highly recommend. One of the better businesses I have dealt with.
- AAngela Lush
This company is junk ! selling parts that are defective and cant stand behind their stuff. avoid any electrical part as they will scam you , if they don't return your money you can always call your credit card and get your money back ! ! make sure to contact bbb in any issues and report them.
- BBJean Slayton
I bought a transmission that supposedly was good. But after paying almost $500 for the transmission and another $950 for the old transmission to be pulled out of my car and the one from this junk yard put in my car, it was not a good transmission. So the garage wanted $400 to pull the transmission back out. The 30 day warranty does not make this even because I will only get almost $100 back of my $1450 spent... very very very upset with this junk yard and their junk transmission and their lying to me saying the transmission was good.... never will I shop here again and will share my story about this experience with everyone that I talk to... DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS JUNK YARD...
- AAmanda Kafer
Drove 3 hours to get there. Nothing but professional. Also picked up a flat tire on my way to get the transmission from them and they were quickly to my assistance to fix my flat for me with no charge or complaint about doing it for me. Thank you for the great service . Would drive 3 hours again
- CCody Jones
I called up there and got a price on three items and ask how much all of it was and I was told 175 so I went up there and only got two of the things I went up there for and the same guy I talked to on the phone rang me up and now the price was magically 230 and I didn't even get the third part. Money isn't the issue I'm having its the dishonesty that I have a problem with so I still got what I picked out but I will never go here again. I hope ithe scam was worth it to never have my business again and for me to not recommend this place to anyone
- ЗЗА МИР!
I bought here a part. They send me broken one. After long discussion the send me other one with same same broken piece. They answered that these parts were in use and there may be broken parts on them, but how can I use a part that has cracks on chrome and pieces of glossy plastic are missing. After a long e-mail correspondence, I made a phone call and was bombarded with accusations of nationality and that people like me are hated. I was just trying to explain that these details do not make sense to sell. Terrible service, will never buy from here again.

Great customer service I would recommend anyone to purchase parts from Advance Auto Salvage. I needed two doors for a 2011 BMW 528i and luckily someone told me about them. Very friendly staff. They went above and beyond to help me out and found me perfect doors at a great price. It brings me back to when I I was younger because I grew up in a junkyard except back in the day you took your own parts off. I had to drive two hours one way and I would and will do it again if I need parts. Everyone there was very friendly and they let me bring my fur baby in with no issues. Thank y'all for great customer service.

Made 1 call to these guys and they answered right away with expertise knowledge of the part I was looking for. When I got there, they had saved the quote, and we're very quick about pulling the requested part. As promised, the price remained the same and the part was correct. Great job guys and I look forward to visiting again!

Do Not be fooled by their 4.5 star rating. They are bunch of crooks. They sold me knowingly defective item. When attempt to confront them, They kept referring to their policy on the paper and refused to refund or return the defective part. After being confronted with dispute, they resort to foul language. No Way. No One takes my money like that!!!!! I never had issue with my shifter. Only leather was scratched off. (Which you never let me finish). I am using my original one and the car is running just fine. Your sales person assured me it was plug n ply. Your sales person asked for the dealer report and i faxed it to you two times to which you never acknowledge of receiving. You cost me $250 which i had to pay the dealer to program the knowingly un-programable shift. Stop Being Crook!!!!! You and your staff should receive minimum 30 days in customer service training (In America) and specially learn how not to use profanity.

I found these guys on Facebook marketplace! They are super awesome to work with and they’re very nice people! They have a wide variety of vehicles with some pretty amazing parts still in tact! I had an amazing time being shown around the yard. Super sweet people and amazing pricing!
