I was given a pick up time of 3pm to 6pm and they never showed up or called. I called at 5:55pm and they said someone would call me in 15 mins and I never received the call. I called the next morning and was told someone would call in 15 minutes and I did not receive a call. I called again and was told to give it time. These calls are being answered by foreigners so I am just assuming their customer service is being out sorced. Worst experience ever!!!!

I have been waiting all day for them to pick up my car since 8:30. They gave me a time frame from 9:00 to 12:00. It’s now 3:00 and still no tow truck. I have literally called some many times to be told the same thing over and over. Truck has been disbatch, a plant manager will call you back. A supervisor will call you back and nothing. Lose a full days of work and nothing came out of trying to do business with them. Accept for them telling me that they are in a call center and the only communicate through email with the yard and they are waiting to hear back and we are sending it to are District Manager and he will responded right away, he might be reading it right now. And, nothing still. 30 mins later. It has been a total of 6 hours now in a parking lot waiting for them to pick up my car. Of your looking to junk your car i would think twice with them. I would give them zero stars if there was an option. I’m reporting this to the better business department as well. Cause this is no way type of way doing bussinees.

Always got what your looking for, just have to take tools yourself to remove it, and haul it. Sounds about the correct way. They post auto online prior to them locating them on the lot which is helpful because you want to make sure you be there the day it’s gets put down. Parts go fast, and cars get stripped. So be there early, look up the cars prior so you know what your getting. Hope this helps your search or pre search.

Now LKQ, they have inventory with pictures available online. Still the muddy, sweaty pick-your-part experience, but if you're not up for that, don't come to a place like this. For those looking to harvest their own parts, this is a solid experience.

$1 entry fee, 2 entry fee, and not it's $3 entry fee, what's next $5? Pricing on parts are to high, its used parts and you may want to consider new or used on amazon and eBay. I miss the good old rates and service.

Went for 2 items, window and a small fan Window was around 42 and we expected to pay 30. But we bought that. The heater blower motor new was $33.99 and I could get 20% off that. Pick and pay wanted $32 for the motor that I just spent 40 minutes pulling. What a bunch of nonsense. I didn't know if it was any good either. Didn't get that, I was willing to do $10. So that was our trip. Got half. For some reason they choose to over charge for almost everything so do your research first.

It was 430 when I was making mine to pay for these tire that I have been working taking it off with the wheel lock on it when I finally get to pay, the ladies wants to charge $60 for Erin that is completely destroyed so I asked him if I can have the $10 fee service to install the tire. They say that the guy who take them off left so I literally spent half of my day trying to buy these tire and they trying to charge me $90 this crazy Ray is operating in a very gangster way

Went to get a camshaft for an engine. Used be less than $100. Went to get one today and was told it was $396. I can get a used on eBay for $190. I see why the parking lot was empty now.

Used to be affordable now it's over price and they charge you for temporary guaranteed items even if you don't want it. Paid 50 something bucke for 3 trims. Crazy how they charge by the foot also. Idk why Krazy sold it to them but at least Krazy prices were way cheaper

Rows are not all organized/ labeled well, but the inventory is kept up-to-date online. Only big negative was that not all vehicles are blocked up well on stands so you may need to get help to access certain wheels. Prices are fair. $3 Admission fee.

My daughter had a slight fender bender and smashed her grill, air conditioner condenser, radiator, front top cross member and driver side head light! We went to their salvage yard, (remove parts yourself) and we're able to get most of the replacement parts that were in excellent shape (like new) for less than a 3rd of the price! Huge inventory and very accessible! Love that place! I Thank God for places like this!!! And so did her wallet!!

This place was a great find! I needed an electric seat, seat belt, and battery tray and was able to find everything in one trip which is very unusual. The prices were great and the vehicles are all sitting a couple feet off the ground so you don't need to break your back to get your parts off and if you need something underneath the car, it's easy access.

Now LKQ but still good. Went to Erdman location, then Mt.Airy, then Edgewood back to back same day. All 3 locations ppl were nice, helpful especially Edgewood. Man at desk told me exactly where car was to pull part. Prices reasonable. Recommend!

Love this yard! If you're ever in northern Maryland and need a good pick and pull this is the place to go. They'll take the tires off rims for you if you just need one or the other. Staff is great and helpful and will give you a list with the locations of the cars you're looking for. Prices are competitive and inventory is always turning over.

Good selection, yard is a little hard to navigate but it usually has what I am looking for if the car is about a decade old or older. Inventory online is nice and staff is usually friendly. Seems like prices keep going up but still reasonable.

I went for the first time last Saturday near their closing time. I had a load of mixed metal. They greeted me before I even entered the gate, told me what their rates were for each metal and directed me where to go to weigh in. After that they directed me where to unload each type of metal and re-weigh so I was paid properly for each type. I was amazed at the courteous and professional service especially at the end of the day when they were extremely busy with a long line of people checking out. I will be a long term customer of Crazy Rays in Mount Airy, Maryland.

Awesome place. Usually find what i need, and ever since they added the vehicle inventory it makes it much more certain then a "go check". Prices are cheap. Vehicles are plenty and everyone that works there doesnt try to rip you off. I went for one specific bolt on my valve cover, the guy didnt even charge me for it. Love this place!

Used to love crazy rays . This is not crazy rays anymore. It took a couple years but the LKQ takeover has changed the whole feel. Prices are much higher especially if you go there for something small. Before you could take a small part up that wasn’t even on the price list and they would ring you for “misc” and charge you 10 bucks or something. Now if it ain’t on the list they look it up on the computer and hit you hard. Over half the price of a new part for what I got. Takes the appeal of driving there, spending an hour pulling it, ( not knowing if it’s good or not) out of the equation. they no longer pay by the pound for cars. Wanted to give me 200 for a BIG heavy van that I can get 380 for at a real scrap yard. Yet another example of national corporation squeezing the soul out of a local legend

I would not recommend this place whatsoever, unless you are broke and feel like being patted down and searched like a criminal. I have never stolen anything in my life and have plenty of money but was patted down and humiliated as the so called security gaurd ripped my tool box to peices and took out every single tool along with patting me down finding absolutely nothing. I'm then told my price is higher than what is listed on their website. If you can find another Junkyard in the area I would suggest going there instead.

It's a bit out of the way, but this is definitely one of my favorite crazy race. I would definitely caution against coming here after it's been raining real good. And my experience it gets extremely muddy at this location. But otherwise they have a more unique selection than most of the other ones

Parts are cheap compared to auto parts store.if you don't mind findng and removing it youself you can save alot of money

  • R

star iconstar iconstar iconstar iconstar icon

Prices on parts here seems fair, especially when compared to buying parts new. It is a bit annoying that you have to pay to get into the yard but I guess they have to make money somehow. The only other downside is that their inventory of vehicles is a bit light when compared to a lot of other places and they definitely dont have a lot of newer vehicles. Inventory is also a bit disorganized, so finding what you need cam be a challenge at times.

I would give a 0 star if given the option.Total ripp off on honoring scrap metal prices listed.Owner is not honest tells staff to lie that prices to be paid to customer were reduced by half on brass etc.by corporate office. There is no corporate office! This is a private owned business. One staff member told me in confidence to go to another place and gave me the name of the company. Heads up beware stay clear of this place! Dishonest!
