I don't think I'll ever come here again after today's rip off. These yards have gone down hill drastically since it's gne from Crazy rays to LKQ or PYP. I pulled a part of a truck. Went to the counter to find out it was double price, because it was in the "doubles section". It didn't say it on the website. Only "doubles section" was written on the window. NOT "Double priced section". Very poor management if you ask me. Black Friday turned into F U friday.

By far my worse experience. This location closes at 4pm. I arrived at 3:45 pm and doors were already locked. Also they had no way of you finding your vehicle easily. No real visible signs. It was all guess work. I called the number before showing up and could not reach a real person. I won’t be coming back to this location.

I have been to this pick-your-part a couple of times. It’s a large yard and has lots of choices for parts. I had 7 of my vehicle model available. The people are friendly and their prices are fair. Even the folks pulling parts in the yard will help you if you need it. Everyone was kind and very friendly. I really like this place and I will certainly return for anything that my car needs.

Give 0 stars if I could. Needed a car picked up for salvage. Never showed up or called during the promised pick-up window time. Called and got some person in another country. Kept saying the tow truck was on their way and that they emailed them. Said they don't have a phone to the salvage yard & can only email and that the truck showed as dispatched, blamed traffic. There is no traffic problem in the area. Never showed. Third time I called, they hung up on me. So miss Crazy Ray's. This new company sucks.

I have been going LKQ Mount Airy or Crazy Rays for years. They have an up to date inventory online, and I have been lucky to get some gems. Only a $3 admission fee, REMEMBER TO CARRY CASH for the admission and soda machine. Recently, their organization has been confusing. Imports, Europeans, GM, Ford, Dodge, etc used to be well organized by vehicle type and brand, not anymore. Finding what my friend and I needed to get was confusing. I counted at least fifteen brands in the same corner of the yard. This is more of an inconvenience or nitpick. The prices for their items has gotten more expensive since 2020, but it's not exactly their fault. More like the market and inflation. There are teams of scavengers, that their job is to take high demand items before anyone else. Again not LKQs fault directly, they are a business at the end of the day. At least for me, they still are cheaper than some new parts. I have a 20 year old Chrysler LH car, Mount Airy is the best junkyard in the DMV area in my opinion and for my car. Hopefully the yard organization and parts prices will get better soon.

Used LKQ in Mount airy to get rid of my car. The process was seamless and easy. It saved me the Big headache of trying to sell it myself to squeeze every penny out of it. It was much easier to send it to salvage and the price( salvage wise) was very good in my opinion. Got my quote online with a quote reference number. The customer service agents on the phone as well as the tow truck driver and the people that work the phones at the yard we're very helpful and informative. They gave me the answers I needed to some questions about what I needed to make this transaction happen. Based on my experience I would definitely recommend them.

It was very interesting, it's like treasure hunting if you need parts for your car. I helped my boyfriend pick out lug parts for his Infiniti car

The place isn't what it used to be, can't call and see if they have a part, they expect you to pay and walk around and waste your time. It's also over priced now and they have a lot less older stuff. It's the same old story, it was taken over by some big corporation and sucks now.

I don't know why they just don't go ahead and close the yard to the public. Obviously, they don't want normal people going there to pull their own parts. They've raised prices to the point that it doesn't make any sense. It's a shame really, the inventory is not bad. Just not worth the drive. Edit: Replying to your reply, I don't believe you. All you guys want to do is sell motors to the Mexicans( no offense). These are old junkyard vehicles which WE are pulling parts ourselves. Just crush the cars and their salvageable parts. I'll find them elsewhere.

Was UNFORTUNATELY assigned this carrier by peddle. When I tried to call to schedule like their message directed, no one picked up the phone. When I called the number on google, the customer service agent was no help stating I had to contact peddle, which I knew was untrue so I asked to speak to the manager. The manager then asks to place me on a hold and then TRANSFERS ME to peddle. Peddle confirmed that the number the business provided was invalid. Never use them as a carrier, completely unreliable and their customer service agents are absolutely no help.

You can drive 2 hours for your parts and it's not there, even if they ask you before you enter, what part I'm interesting for, they will charge you and say "it's available", but you didn't find it. I come for an engine and the price was near 600-700, I spend all day for removal and when tryed to buy it, they put the price for 1800$, unbelivable 1800 for the engine that could even not start, because they do not allow to start the car, that is the rule.

Today my husband went in to the yard at 4p they close at 5p he was looking for a part for his Durango that he didn’t find but when walking out a gentleman that worked there asked my husband what he had in his pocket my husband pulled out a adjustable wrench and the guy acted as tho he was stealing. Never apologized for Accusing him of stealing, needless to say, my husband will never return to this junkyard ever again. And my husband spends a lot of money at several junkyards we have old cars that he is fixing up. Wish I could give a zero star because that is what they would get.

I’d buy new unless in an absolute pinch. Used to go here all the time for parts but anymore the parts cost about the same as new. And if it’s cheaper you’ll spend that much fixing the part. Went for a door ajar sensor recently because I didn’t want to wait for shipping. Wanted $20. The part new is 12 and is in NEW condition. Won’t be returning again. On top of that they offered 180 for a complete car with no body damage aside from slight rust on the quarter panel and a blown head gasket. So you’ll charge 20 for a part the size of my finger and pay 180 for a complete car. 250-300 sure but 180 nah. It can be used for target practice at that.

Prices here are insane, I pulled a radiator fan for a honda Accord 2002. Their price, they wanted $47 when online at a reputable auto part, brand new, and with guaranteed is $45. Why? They are taken advantage of people make them believe is better and cheaper at their yard, labor and time added to the part price it double the cost of a new part. Never again. Seriously, but it new.

Good selection of vehicles but prices have been raised so high they are almost uncompetitive. You can get these same parts from salvage yards that pick the parts for you for equal money. Just not worth it anymore.

Cant call anymore to get info on parts everything is online and I can't figure out if that part is available or not just have to go there to look which if you are limited on time and go there and they don't have it is a waste of time and 3$

Customer service is so bad there sooooo rude I was trying to just to get one part and there was 15 min left until they closed and they said no there were about to close in 5 min like what I already know where the car was and everything knew what I was looking for came from a 45 min drive just for nothing( DONT COME HERE)

You used to be spend your time and hard labor in the pick and pull yard to get a deal on parts for your vehicle. Not anymore everything is overpriced and the time you spend driving there is just not worth it anymore. Just source your used parts online and don't waste your time coming here

Got my tires punctured several times in their parking lot. Full of nails and screws. My latest incident was today. My tire picked up a screw this time and fortunately I was able to feel the clicking noise of it hitting the asphalt once I exited their unpaved lot. I stopped right on time to remove the screw that already went halfway through my tire wall. I believe the store earns enough money to pave their parking lot. Until they do, it might just be better to shop at online marketplaces for items that are normally not too expensive. Their inventory is alright, but savings of couple dollars are not worth the tires getting messed up that often.

Prices of you picked used parts has increased so much, I'm finding new parts via Ebay do the trick. However, LKQ charges $3 just to enter and inventory isn't 100% (h20 should be a VW Jetta but isn't there) as they say. However, I'm still satisfied with their system and enjoy picking my parts. Hence 5 stars

They don't update their parts list on the computer. So I drove 2 hours to come get a part they said they had and when I got there the car was completely stripped. If people aren't filling out the ticket you give them then what's the point I wouldn't be letting them buy the part unless they filled out the card

A very polite older lady in her 60s or early 70s - explains everything from price of the desired part to the gate fee ($2.00) to the 'as is' (no-return) policy. She went ahead to shown me a printed list of all the vehicles in the yard. I wish this place had a return policy. I did not make a purchase because I could not afford to buy a $50.00 part that might fail to work - 50-50 chance. If this savage yard had a return policy, I would rate it number 1... in Amerika. This place is easy to locate on the GPS in Mount Airy. Facts aside, I give a 5 stars ... Because this place has a wonderful old lady upfront who is willing to help as best as she can. Kudos. Well done ✔.

Been going here for years but the prices keep going up. The prices they advertise online are incorrect and when you go to pay they charge you more and won't explain why. They also add on extra fees when you leave which are not advertised. If you want a complete door expect to pay alot of money they charge individually for the door the handle the panel the switches the mirror the glad etc etc etc place is turning into a rip off and a half. I would avoid if you can help it.try Rock Auto and make Crazy Ray's your last resort.

1st time visitor to this location, for a junkyard this place is very well maintained, has a very courteous and helpful staff unlike the location at Jessup "they act like we the customers are a pest and owe them for there time". The vehicle inventory at Mt Airy is correct and coordinated with the app aswell. Found everything I needed on the first visit and they even offered warranty option just incase the parts are wrong or failed within 90 days, seriously yall can't beat that, absolutely loved it. Worth traveling 1hr away from Bowie Md

Spent hours there looking for my part, they are completely disorganized. When I went to pay, they wanted more money than this 17 year old part is worth brand new. Genuinely baffled. Will not be returning.
