One year ago Christmas Eve I was stranded in Apache Junction five days prior to that I took my truck into Pitt Road automotive to have the differential pinion seal changed David had trouble getting the front axle out and actually damaged it to the point that he had to replace that axle he also replaced an axle you joint and axle seal telling me that they were damaged, he actually had a difficult time just pulling the axles out of the front differential and having damaged one he couldn’t get that part so I had to get a motel room overnight in showlow and rent a car for that evening and the next day when I went to pick up my truck the bill was $ 3700 so I paid that and left, and like I said a few days later I went into South Phoenix and Mesa and as I approached Mesa I heard a howl from the differential, i started looking for a shop, I found a transmission shop two days before Christmas, they were able to get me up on the rack and established that the pinion bearing was going out, , at this point I called Pitt Road automotive and talk to David he said that he would make some calls and see if there was anyone down there that he knew that could help me out and get back to me I never heard back from him , the transmission shop found a chassis differential shop, Rips automotive (a 30+ year established business working on differential and running gear) and I was able to get the truck to that shop, I left it there at Rips shop overnight and had to get a motel room for 110 bucks and hike 3 miles to the shop the next morning Rip was able to find a bearing on Christmas Eve he replaced that bearing and I was able to drive back to Showlow Christmas Day, Rip stated that the differential pinion bearing had been overtightened and stated that “whoever did this had no idea what they were doing” the cost of the gauled bearing and labor was $2,700 rips automotive was amazing they took care of me on Christmas Eve stranded at Apache Junction I called David Boger at Pitt Road automotive the following day after returning to Showlow and he said “he would turn this into his insurance “ it’s been a year and a week and I haven’t heard from him since. I tried to call his cell phone several times after the incident and his phone had been assigned to another person. David Boger might be OK to change your oil or fix a flat tire but I wouldn’t recommend it he has my phone number and has yet to give me a call

Driving up from the valley last week in 110 deg heat and our AC went out 20 minutes into the trip. We called around the to the bigger shops and got the run around with no guarantees of prompt service. We called Pit Road and David was very friendly and helpful, and promised to get on it first thing the next day. After a very sweaty trip to Show Low, we dropped off our Honda CRV at the shop after hours. Early the next morning, David called with a clear and simple explanation of the diagnosis, the out-the-door cost, and said they could do the work the same day. We were shocked and elated at the same time. When we picked it up he was very professional and took the time to show me the compressor they removed and explained exactly what failed and how. They even included some leak repairs for free. But the real integrity move came when we were paying and he admitted that he quoted me the wrong price over the phone. But he honored the lower price, even though this meant less profit for them. They are a quality shop who go the extra mile with honesty, integrity, and clear communication. We will be back and we highly recommend them.
