If your thinking of putting stuff into the swap shop shed, I wouldn't bother. The attendant just throws it in the dumpster when you leave. We put a $900 uppababy stroller and didn't even give it a chance. Into the dumpster. Next time I'll post on Craigslist or marketplace as free. At least someone can use it and keep it out of the landfill.

Longmeadow Recycling Center Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (but bring a bigger car) You go there to get rid of stuff. You leave wondering if you accidentally went shopping. I pulled in with a trunk full of junk and left with: • A perfectly good plant pot (for a plant I don’t even own yet) • A “vintage” bicycle (translation: older than my kids) • A lawnmower that “just needs a little something” • Three books I absolutely don’t have time to read • A lamp that somehow followed me home • A stereo system that still has a cassette deck (bonus) And that was just one visit. The “swap” area is basically a yard sale with no prices and no supervision. It’s like a treasure hunt where your willpower is the only thing standing between you and a garage full of “future projects.” Other items spotted in the wild: • Sporting gear (one ski, no explanation) • Baby strollers from three different decades • Shower chairs (practical, slightly concerning) • Folding chairs, extension cords, mystery cables • Kitchen gadgets nobody remembers buying • Holiday decorations in mid-July • Picture frames with someone else’s family still smiling inside • Half-used paint cans (colors: “maybe beige,” “definitely regret”) • Coolers, fans, space heaters, and at least one waffle maker Bottom line: You can absolutely declutter your house here. Just don’t be surprised if your house ends up more full when you get back. Pro tip: Bring what you don’t want… Leave your self-control at h. :::
