Running a collision repair shop can be a serious grind especially trying to locate quality parts that can be severely limited by what insurance companies will pay for (and a heads up to you folks actually read what is in your policy you are agreeing to!) but if I'm in a bind I know I have a great chance of having GP to help us out. The best part is when I call up they never sound defeated like so many other vendors offering the same product but usually for more money.

So, to be fair, the mechanics are fully competent and capable. They can fix cars. This review is a review of the admin process, payment. I am a member of Car Shield, a car warranty service. I do my due diligence, I call Car shield and get a provider that accepts Car Shield, like GP Automotive. I called and was told they work with CarShield, but parts not covered under the warranty are not covered, that is fair. So I had them do the work, I think it was a piece for the exhaust, and when was all done it was way more than the warranty. Now, I did have to go back to CarShield about the taxes, they said they pay them, but they don't. However, GP jacked up the warranty part, diagnosis and labor to charge me more. I called them out on it and they (Eric) said they can't make any money on the parts or diagnostic, or labor, but they accept what they charge and then charge the customer more... So , I called today, my car is broken, and Scott talked to Eric and they said all though they do accept CarShield, they don't accept their parts, diagnostic costs are iffy so No, GP Automotive does NOT accept CarShield as payment in full for warranty work, period. They are competent mechanics, but warranty people, beware...
