I had never been to this location and don't usually trade in scrap, so it was my first time. The staff that collected the items was rude and unhelpful. I had to walk back and forth from the back of the yard to the front office twice because the staff didn't tell me how to proceed with certain items. I do not recommend and I'm very disappointed in my experience. Customer service means everything and it seems so easy to do, but evidently not at this place.

1 star for INSANE check in process. Showing up in a semi, w a proper load number & destination isn't good enough. After they hire your company to come pick up a load, they'll burn your clock making you sit there waiting for a fvking email from the company "confirming my identity." what??? What if I'm doing a relay?? Who cares who I am, load my truck! Stupid. Omg don't come here in a semi unless you are getting massive detention pay, this is stupidly inefficient. Super ridiculously tight dry van dock, with employee parking in the backing path. Plan on spending 30 min trying to line it up straight enough for them to load you! Never come here, this place is the worst I've been to in a while

The first time i was there loaded 44k lbs,the floor of the trailer was with minor damages, and shreds of metal are still in it . Second time loaded 49,200 lbs at first, pressed aluminum cans, than they took off few pieces and got it down to 43,700 lbs. Two cut tires on the trailer on their yard on top of all this.On the way out,the guy in the office was stuffing his mouth with mac n cheese and jalapenos, choking, sufgocating and talkin to me When i got to the receiver, got unloaded and of course as its usual with scrap yards you gotta broom those out which is fine, but all that sugar thats been evaporating from the cans of soda made the ceiling and the floor all wet and sticky. So dont worry about getting on bad terms with the broker, just cancel your load if you re not ok with this and take care of your equipment.

The only reason I'm scared of going is every single time I have went the next day or 2 days later I will have a low or flat tire. I'm not kidding I remember getting so angry because I just bought 2 new tires. I just deal with cans and all the employees have been very nice with me even fellow customers. I have to go again and I prey I don't get another screw and bolt again. Otherwise, easy 5 star.

Sometimes won't cash your check if late in the day, sends you to the bank, just for the bank to tell you EMR never released the check on their end. By the time you figure this out, EMR isn't answering the phones, which means no cash, time and gas wasted. EMR also won't but barebright copper unless you're an electrician. Alter right down the street (literally 30 seconds) is much better, quieter, friendly, helpful. If you gotta go anywhere, head to Alter, you'll thank me later.

If you posted a good review about this place you either work there or you haven’t been to any other recycling places there inconsiderate hi on meth and try and rip you off that’s why they won’t let you look at the scale when there weighing it and try to give you cheaper medal prices than what you have I’d say there one of the worst recycling centers they list higher scrape prices but you won’t get the weight though deserve unless a regular 5 gal bucket is 6 pounds these days!!!!! Watch yourself when you go there definitely don’t make you feel wanted.

Lame, didn't get paid for the aluminum that I brought in yesterday, all I get was just a wave by the window employee

The few negative reviews I just read, leave me scratching my head. I have never brought anything but aluminum pop cans here, but I deal with many of the same people that the bigger “scrap” customers do. I have never, and I mean not once, had a bad experience here. The guy who takes my cans is always super nice and the office staff are too. Very nice people. And, I come here once a month and have for years. Don’t know what happened to these few customers who claim to have been ripped off or treated disrespectfully, but I have not and highly suggest you try them at least once, and judge for yourself. Frankly, my first time going there, I expected to be treated rudely as that’s just the way these places have always been, unless you’re a buddy of theirs or look like a “junk yard” guy. I am not and had no idea where to go or what I was doing and everyone was helpful. I was surprised and have been going there ever since. Going today as a matter of fact. Give them a try and see for yourself. You don’t have to go back again (but I bet you will.)

They have a 500 lb. minimum for scrap steel. They don't mention that anywhere until you get there. Then they tell you if you have less than 500 lb. you can leave it for free. Alter down the street is a better deal for small loads.

A good place to drop off metal, but if you're on a deadline it's not as great. Dropped off over 800 lbs of steel, but didn't have time to wait on the scale and being told 3 different locations in the lot to drop it. If I wasn't on a deadline I may have waited to get paid for it, but it's set up in an inefficient manner to get through smaller loads (non-semi) through unless you're getting paid for your wait time.

Make sure you know their sign language before you go there. After weighing in my scrap and drove to the yard. I saw one of the employees in the yard. He didnt signal me to where i was suppose to throw my scrap so i drove to where the wheel rotors are and was about to dump some rotor i have. He then came up to me what you doing here, i told i have some rotor i gotta throw. He says you are not suppose the be over here and instructed me to go where he was at, and where i was suppose to throw the scraps. It was the same employee i had saw when i was pulling in. On to the aluminum side, one employee on the forklift hand signal and i thought o had to give him my paper. He looked at me and then speaked with his voice say i need your ID. Remember your eyes is your communication with them not your voice.

Had a pleasant first time experience there, brought all my empty beer cans from a party and got a nice chunk of change for them. Staff was very helpful/friendly including the folks in the office. I was expecting rude service and was wrong. Only place I will be going to from now on.

So fast and efficient here. Staff is friendly and funny, great place to bring scrap/recycling to definitely! They're making some changes to their payment, check in and weighing in processes hopefully making them more streamlined but still my favorite place to bring scrap!

Drove 40min to recycle copper here at EMR northern metal on a Saturday which I ran late getting lost and pulled in with 20min before they closed just to be rudely told they were closed. I tried to talk with another employee there because I needed the payout for gas and he said he'd help but that was the boss that said no so he couldn't but suggested another place which turned out to be closed. My day was horrible stranded in MN with no gas just because of 1 person taking his problems out on customers.

Worst place for customer service. All the way up to the regional manager. I felt ripped off for the amount I received for the materials that were brought in at the current market prices. The lady in the office is just rude. There more worried about profits then they're about the integrity of there business an there business practices. I would never recommend this location to anyone not even to ask for directions. Rudest people to deal with. The belittlement they protry toward a person is pitiful

Aluminum Cans! We had been collecting a basement full and finally found an easy place to take cans. When you pull in there is a sign for Aluminum Cans --- there is 4 bays, 2 were open at the time. They'll wave you in and dump cans as you unload your car. No hassel at all and we came back with another load. It was an Earth Day special 50cents a pound so that was an extra bonus. you get a slip with the weight and dollar amount and cash it in at the office (note if it is later in the day they could be short on cash. we took both our slips back over the lunch hour on Monday. Highly Recommend!

This company is a joke. I told them going in I had no clue what's going on I've never been there before they gave me absolutely no Direction. Left me sitting there for an hour wondering what I was doing. Made me late for work. Only can get ripped off and get no choice about the matter. Because I was late for work and couldn't take the stuff back because it would have taken too long and there was no way I could lift it back into the trailer by myself. Gave me sheet aluminum prices for extruded aluminum. Wasn't even worth my time and I could have sold it for more otherwise. I even had people trying to buy it off of me but I made the stupid mistake of going to Northern metal recycling.

Large facility, a bit bigger than the savage location, these guys have a 500 lb min for steel here vs 300 lb min in savage. If you have steel I'd get 1 ton or more. Good company to do business with.

By far the worst place ever to recycle metal. pulled all the wire out of motors and it wasn't posted on my invoice. Lost out on 10+ lbs of copper. They wouldn't take all my metal because the guy working told me he didn't want it today.if I could give this a zero ratingi I would. Vwet unprofessional place and be serious, look at there 5 star ratings and the comments.

I brought in a big trailer full of scrap filling up multiple of their bins....a few days later I received a check in the mail from them saying sorry they missed a bin. In my opinion a very honest fair place to go with your scrap.
