Perfect for first-timers. Homeowners with one item in the trunk or full-time scrapper with a truckload, all are welcome. Pull onto the scale and press the button and wait. It is a small operation and the owners may be out in the yard-- may take a minute for them to appear in the window and wave you into the yard to unload. The best part about Rag and Bone is they are a true recycle/re-use yard. That means, if you see something you would like, say, an old bicycle or an old wood stove, just ask-- because everything in the yard is for sale. Need a part for your old mower? It may be better just to buy another old mower because they have working mowers usually. If you like rusty metal things that can be re-purposed, this is the place for you. Plus, it looks like a castle!

Great fun to visit and a user friendly facility. These nice people are really recycling--if you see something useful, you may ask to buy it. It is an iron sculptor's paradise. If you have an item to scrap, just pull onto the scale and toot your horn, someone will come to the window in the giant iron wall--it may take a minute. They will tell you what to do and you will end up getting a few bucks for it depending on its weight and type of metal it is. If you have a big load, you can really make some cash. They pay top prices for scrap. Your first trip you are a customer, your next trip you will be a friend. :)

Very rude owner. Humiliated me for getting there 15 min before they close. He took me in and took my weight then said I cannot unload the stuff ! Another time humiliated me for half an hour saying he cannot have someone help me pull the stove outa my van. I have never ever seen such evil low disrespectful people. It's a shame how business owners can humilitae their customers instead of making the customer feel respected !!

Today was the second time I've been here and it's a good place to go.They have very open pricing and clear guidelines on what they take and don't take and what they take that will cost a convenience fee. The staff there is very friendly and chill so it's the calm professionalism of, well, professionals and not the cheeriness of customer service. Nothing against those folk but it's not what we see here. All in all for pricing, convenience, and range of materials it's right now my go to for my scrapping and getting a little money back needs.

I haven't been to a scrapyard since I was a Boy Scout selling cans and bottles for fundraisers, so I didn't quite know what to expect. I was looking for a place to recycle a burnt out treadmill and could only find places that cost a bunch to haul it away. Then I found Rag and Bone. I emailed asking if it was something they took, and if I needed to take it apart. Brittany replied and said to bring it as it was, no need to disassemble. It's not hard to find, but be careful because Google Maps might take you to the exit. The staff was super nice, and politely explained the process. Once I got to the right place, they weighed my car, showed me where to unload, then weighed it when empty. It was nice to get a couple of bucks for something that I would have had to pay to dispose of.They take a bunch of different stuff, so check their site to see what they're buying, and if you have questions, I'm sure Brittany or any of the other staff will be super helpful.

Husband called before going for a price on copper. Bright and shiny no questions asked. Figured we'd try this place since it was closer to home. We dont normally switch up from our tried and true that we've used formany yrs. My husband owns his own construction company so we scrap sometimes 3 times in one week. I weigh it b4 we go "every time" and write it down. I also write with the price I was quoted on the phone and who quoted it. We used to use 4 different places so it became routine to do this b4 each trip to the scrap yard. I'm meticulous. So my hubby goes out there and they quote him a lower price and said there was less weight then there actually was. Needless to say we went out to one of our tried and true and the weight was right as was the price. So my thing here is...Maybe someone was filling in for someone that day or something was off. I don't like giving bad reviews. So I will try them one more time and see how it goes. Hopefully it will go great and I can come back and give them 5 stars and have a place close to home that I trust using. For now however I have to stick with my findings.

This place is a ripoff!! They make up ridiculous story that water heaters are full of water and when questioned about the weight difference they state they have the discretion to pay whatever they want to. Unbelievable scam artists
