Do not trade with these guys. I asked for a quote on price for yellow brass. They told me that I wouldn’t like it. The first quoted $.50 a pound. When I told him I had at least 100 pounds they told me they could give me $1.50. Same place in Fort Collins was paying 2.85.. I did this just to prove a point. After Weighing the material then they claim their buckets weighed 15 pounds So we took that off, and I asked them to put the bucket back on the machine They refused to show me how much their container weighed. Also, if you do not cut any material down to small enough Sizes they will refuse taking the material. Seems like they just don’t want to do their own Job. Total rip off. Do not use.!!!!!!

The employees are very rude. They didn’t have the equipment to determine the materials you drop off so you don’t get paid for anything. All they have is a magnet. If the magnet sticks they will take it, if not you don’t get paid. I dropped all my stuff in their bin without getting paid for stainless steel. I wasn’t trying to make money, I just want to recycle, it’s just the way the treated me that made the experience so bad. I believe I was very nice considering how they treated me. The guy waved me off very rudely as I left, I saw it in my review mirror. Go to another place, don’t waste your time here.

I appreciate the service you provide our community. It's nice to have somewhere local to take scrap metal and receive funds for it. Thank you. I've always found the pricing fair and saves me gas money going to Denver to drop off scrap.

Employee tried telling me all stainless was nonferrous ( didnt even know industry terminology) and that regular oxidation on clean copper makes it #2 ( in terms of 4 months to a year) Not corrosion from moisture exposure ( which will create a green (cupric chloride)growth/ patina. Absurd, all copper pipe will slightly darken due to oxidation. You will have clean copper from vendors with this. I have always done business with knowledgeable people that know thier scaping materials. I was given a lower price for some copper having a purge port brazed on and was told it was considered mixed and not #2. The port was a 1/4" in size and 1/2" long. Didnt seem too terribly busy but portrayed that they didnt want to do more then they had too.Thier "1" copper will oxidize by the time they send their bin out and you better believe they get #1 pricing for it. Anyways, never been nickled and dimed soo much recycling in the past 15 yrs. Do yourself the favor and go to atlas in Denver/ one of the larger recyclers. Dont let your hard work be in vain by going to this place. Didnt find out till it was too late too that some of the bronze I had was just counted as yellow brass. Oh and one other thing, they told me I was in the wrong industry for being in the trades and knowing my metallurgy and that i just might teach them something....... Not something you wanna hear from the people who should know the ins and outs of their job. Maybe it'll get better, maybe it won't. I will take my buisness elsewhere.

First I'd like to say Colorado iron and metal is a fine place to take your scrap metal and cans for the most part. I've been scrapping for 10+ years and know my different grades. I've also worked at scrap yards for 5 years so yes I know how to grade metal. On that note the Loveland location is not the best place to take your copper and other high value metal. On multiple occasions I've felt they just grade metal at its lowest value and rush you out. Now to my knowledge #1 copper pipe is at least as thick as a pencil lead and clean meaning no sodder no paint. #2 is thinner pipe with sodder and paint. Dirty is copper with other metals or materials attached to it. Today I took in number 2 copper pipe that I had taken the time to remove the iron fittings and cleaned up best I could but knowing it had paint I knew I wouldn't get #1 so I left sodder joints. Took my copper in and was graded as dirty copper I had less then 20lbs so wasn't worth fighting over but honestly I'm done dealing with the Loveland location. From now on I'll either make the drive to the fort Collins location or go to Iron Ridge. If you just need a quick buck off your soda cans then use Loveland but if your looking to cash in your copper, brass, wire, stainless etc avoid this location. The staff is decent but I feel they lack the motivation to grade your metal properly to keep you coming back. If the owner reads this please take the time to drive to your Loveland location and give a lesson on grading and customer service, it will go a long way on keeping a returning customer base.

I called five times before I showed up to find out about my copper no one answered I got there and the guy told me it's going to be weighed as brass instead as copper since it has little brass pieces at the end of them. If I would have known all this I wouldn't have drove from Longmont to the location without separating it all I was a little annoyed by this.

Employees are lazy (were standing around doing nothing when I pulled up and didn't offer any assistance), short tempered and didn't offer to pay a single dollar for over 300 lbs of quality steel. Go somewhere else.

This location is absolutely worthless, absolutely worthless. I agree with others on here that they are strictly open at this location to support whatever the homeless are up to don’t waste your time going here unless you have a bag of cans. Worthless!! And the guy working there with the beard is absolutely not friendly just like other people have reviewed. I love to support Loveland business but you guys are a scam.

I am disgusted be the attitude of the employees and how unwilling thy seemed to have a customer one individual even made a comment about my being there and not goings to the Ft Collins location. I will NEVER give this company ANY of my business EVER AGAIN. if I had the ability to give 0 stars this company deserves less than that

I’ve never had an issue here; I’m glad they have Val pack coupon and get that extra for recycling cans😃.. it may not be “much” but it’s good to get $ and clean out the garage👍 (not just throwing it away).

I have recycled a lot here. I’m going to recycle metal, not have dinner. Rick isn’t very chatty but if he isn’t busy and you have questions, he is knowledgeable and helpful as far as what to bring in and when the best time is because he can’t always take everything you bring in. If there were only a way to know before you drive over….oh wait…it’s in your hand ;) I suggest you try this one for yourself…

Rip off. They will not give you a fair price. Call around and don't trust them. They wanted to give me $1.50 per lbs for #2 copper stripped. I took it to Atlas Metal & Iron Corp. They gave me @2.00 per Lbs. Totally worth the extra drive.

This place is the equivalent of those old goat recycling units they used to have in the parking lots of grocery stores years ago. You know spend an hour throwing bag after bag of aluminum cans for that Saturday afternoon icecream treat with the family. Dont show up if your material doesn't fit in a few large garbage pails, because these two dudes claim they cant handle it. Place was clean and appeared ready to be a recycling center just cant do anymore then those old goat's....

Very rude, horrible employee. Yelled and me and my girlfriend and made her cry. He also almost knocked over an old lady who was wiating to drop off cans. This was one of the most horrific experiences of my life. Stay away from this place. I'm also pretty sure he was trying to elude that we needed to subtract money for the bags our cans were in. I'm suspicious this employee does this to rip people off and pocket this extra money he deducted from the "bag" weight. Fyi dude bags weigh virtually nothing. I wasn't fooled.

I brought 35 lbs of Copper#2 to this place. The guy was an $!#-hole for one acting like it was 35lbs of dog poop...Then he preceded to offer Brass recycling prices...31 cents a lb... Copper is $2.30 a lb...... DONT EVER GO HERE. They are crooks!!

Poor customer service. Took 2 large bags of smashed cans for recycling was told he wouldnt accept because he ASSumed there was spit/liquid in the cans. Have been taking cans there for many years, but will no longer. Thought loveland residents were encouraged to recycle.

This place is a scam. They will not give you anything close to what is owed. I brought aluminum and copper and was told the copper is “ about the same as aluminum” and he weighed it together. Copper is around $2.50, alumiunm is .30 - .60 per lb. Don’t waste your time with these hacks.

For the type of business this is, they're just what I expect. Their hours are limited, service is hit and miss, but it's convenient and better than just trashing your brass copper and aluminum.
