Waited thirty minutes for the slow, rude worker in back. Once inside he looks at my fully loaded van and says I need a hard copy of my business license. I pre registered on the website and it never mentioned anything about a business license. Several people ahead of me had the same type scrap but not as much and easy to unload. It seems to me he picks and chooses what he will unload.Bottom line….. I won’t be back again. How insulting to be lied to from people that are rude and hateful.

I started coming here recently because of the little guy at ABC who runs the small scale & rips people off. Unfortunately I found the same situation here. The employees here are either lying or they are completely ignorant about the different grades of STAINLESS STEEL!!!!!! They think if a magnet sticks to it's not real stainless steel!!!!!! If you have stainless to sell do yourself a favor.....don't come here or to ABC in Moss Point to sell it!!!!!!! The goofball today graded my stainless bearings & boat motor shafts as "irony aluminum"...... I'm beginning to think that all scrapyards are doing this. So I will not sell stainless steel again since there's no point in it! Also I have weighed & marked all the containers that I use for hauling alloy on postal scales. My receipt shows that they are saying my boxes weigh 2lbs more or even more!!!!!!

This place is so ridiculous. I have been waiting in like to drop aluminum off for an hour!! Finally to the door and I see why it's taking so long to unload CANS! from the guy in front of me. All the workers are VERY SLOW!! And stand around chatting alot.... I will most definitely not be coming here anymore!!!

I've been here twice this week and everyone, from the girl in the office to the yard attendants, was exceptionally courteous, friendly, and helpful. Just really good customer service. Better than most places I've been lately, including the doctor's office!

They've got good prices, the people there are always friendly & helpful, even though they bust their butts in the heat & have to deal with a LOT of dumb people every day. I go through here at least a twice a week, sometimes more, & they always work as quickly as they possibly can (People, don't bring 2,000 aluminum cans loose in your trunk, please!!!) to get people in & out of the warehouse & in the back of the yard. Everybody I have interacted with in my hundreds of trips there has been helpful & polite & on top of their jobs. If you are expecting to get rich, try the casinos or the lottery. This is a scrap yard. They are a business, not a charity, & they have to turn a profit just like the rest. They aren't handing out "the easy life" any more than anywhere else is. They aren't going to give you gold prices for torn up, old trash or stuff that has been used & removed from an old building. Have realistic expectations.

Just wanted to say thank you to all the staff at EMR. I was very impressed from the first guy i talked to at scales. I broke my foot so i was on crutches and they went out of there way to make it as easy as positive. J J and Chance was awesome. I am new to scraping and they was very helpful and took the time to tell what they could take and the things that they couldnt. I want go anywhere else. They have my business for life as long as those guys are employed there!!!

I had the opportunity to sell a vehicle to EMR a few weeks ago and the customer service was excellent. Being new to the process, the clerk took time to explain the do's and don'ts that were required of me to sell my car. I was directed to a certain location within the scrap yard and there was a guy waiting per the clerks instructions to unload me. The process was less than 10 minutes max to complete before I was heading back to the scales. I have to give the facility hire marks because my son was riding with me and got out of the vehicle for the initial weighing. The clerk attention to detail was evident when she reminded my son to exit the vehicle for final weighing. I was then sent to the cashier that took all my information and paid me an unexpected amount for my old car. I will tell all I come in contact of the quality of service I received!

Everyone I met was friendly and helpful. Considering it wasn't built on a parking lot you may not want to bring a vehicle with steering or ball joint issues, or as one person said, the "grocery getter". It's a place that deals with rough material and should be expected to be rough on a vehicle. Overall, I am happy with my business with Southern Scrap.

This was our first visit to this business. My husband pulled in where the warehouse is. He was told to pull around back. We were bringing to old batteries to be recycled. My husband pulled to the back and pulled over to put the batteries to where they could be reached. A guy came out fussing " You don't stop back here you pull in" His gestured he had an attitude. We proceed inside of the warehouse. The guy kept fussing and showing us where to pull in. There was a large basked in the middle of the driveway. He starts hollering "Don't hit my basket" I was about to go off on this man. My husband gets out and says Man if I hit your basket I will buy you a new one. The guy says "Yeah Right" This guy has been at it to long and is clearly miserable in his job. I have worked piss poor jobs and still treated people with respect. I'm sure he has to deal with lots of people that give him a hard time, but us being the first time there he needs to have some patients.

Great staff from the ladies in the office to the guys in the back. Everyone including Chris the manager are very knowledgeable and will help you with anything. I wish the price on the precious metals were a little better though. 😁

Good place to go to sell a battery or two for beer money but if you have a lot of material that’s actually worth something go somewhere else. I had 3800 lb of copper coils that they wanted me to unload by myself outside of the building and after I said I would just go somewhere else they said they would “ send some Mexican to unload”. It took literally two and a half hours to get unloaded with me doing most of the work. The employees are extremely rude and lazy with the exception of the lady in the office. Definitely go somewhere else!!!

Great and friendly place to sell all your metal and scrap but have to check the prices ahead of time. I didnt today because I was just cleaning out extra stuff from around the property and afterwards realized that were paying a whopping $4.50 per 100lbs of tin. Basic scrap metal. Other than that an incredible and as stated above very friendly place with awesome workers. My go to scrap yard for years and will continue to get all of my business

Sell your copper(need an ID and it takes 3 days to get a check). Sell your metal for cash(same day). Unload your own haul. Get an EMR Customer Loyalty Card to put on keyring and save time.

I'm not sure why any of these people are complaining, but truth be told I frequent this yard and everytime I'm there everyone is beyond helpful. Both of the wonderful ladies at the windows, Miss. Casey and Miss. Becky are absolutely amazing, always have wonderful conversation and answer my questions with some nasty ass attitude like most other yards I've visited in the past, as well as the gentlemen in the back who always ask if I need help and are kind in explaining when I unload. Out of all the states I've lived in in the last 10 years, this has to be my favorite yard hands down. Deffinetly reccomend it to any and everyone.

Go there alot, best advice I can give, 1. Call beforehand to check on prices. 2. Know what you have before you go. 3. Have it separated before you go. They are very busy usually and just like any other job. It's all about the turnaround.

It was easy to get in and out of without worrying about getting stuck in mud or loose metal puncturing your tire. This place is very professional.

I love this place. The ppl are great the service is fast. I never have a problem with EMR GULFPORT. They have the most down to earth ppl working there and they give me experience in things I didn't know concerning my metal.

These people who are complaining should go to Harrisburg. I love these people who are just doing there job. They must not know what they are doing. Go to McDonald's and get a job. Casey runs the scale, and is most respect full to me.

The lady who works the scale is very rude. Not friendly at all. Does not know how to treat customers. I would recommend going elsewhere. Talks back to people like they are stupid. I recommend southern scrap remove her from the weigh station window.

This place sets the scales. And if you brinv short iron they only give it as shred iron. Rude. And they take and add weight as it pleazes them. Do tbey actually think it raises their paychecks to still from the poor to make tbe owners richer.

Would be nice if the company would post a sign or advertise the fact that they close for lunch and for how long. Also the drive back there is VERY rough, I would not recommend bringing your grocery getter.

Turned in some aluminum cans and was expecting sub-par service cause of the other reviews but was surprised. Other than the small font signs directing where to go, everything else was quick and easy.
