QCMR has a 501c-3 second chance program that employs ex offenders to give an opportunity for a new trade and fresh start in life. Being a WOSB CERTIFIED,CBI HUBcertified, Charlotte’s only Recycling facility to allow individuals to scrap without a vehicle is an important part of helping our local community to have a form of employment. Queen City Metal has state certified scales and was awarded in 2017 Small Business of the Year by the SBA, State of NC and Wells Fargo Small Business Person. I'm having a hard time with this one. This was my first and most likely only experience with this place. I don't like to post negative reviews unless absolutely warranted. So let me start off by saying these people are very nice and friendly and helpful. However their prices are not competitive and I am skeptical about the accuracy of their scales. I attempted to address this issue but was ASSURED the scales are certified. OK well that's great but I know how much my truck and trailer weigh empty and they were 80 lbs off...60 if I'm being forgiving. Not to mention their buying price was lower than my normal scrap yard price from less than 5 days ago. So do with that information what you will. I have no ill will towards this establishment but I do not trust them and will not be back and would recommend anyone to take your business elsewhere unless it is a matter of convenience.

This is the best recycling place in Charlotte and surrounding. They have the best prices and are always there 6 days a week. The best staff and the owner gets out there and works also. By far a five star experience they've earned it.
