3.4 stars based on 30 reviews- JJennifer Westfall
This is the best recycling place in Charlotte and surrounding. They have the best prices and are always there 6 days a week. The best staff and the owner gets out there and works also. By far a five star experience they've earned it.
- DDebbie Starns
We had a van full of old appliances and called and asked if they would take these types of items, They did and over we went, what an awesome experience. They walked us through the entire process; they even unloaded our entire van and even walked away with cash. Micky and her team have super customer service.

Seriously? Identifies as woman owned and lgbtq friendly? Oh my, what a strange time to be alive. Look at their reviews and replies, one customer says the guy at the window was acting like he was mute and their reply.. "fortunate that you are insulting someone with disabilities " No one is insulting people with disabilities, they're making a point. ??? Omg get woke and go broke. All I care about is your service, not who owns it or what sexual orientation they support. But I'll be taking my business to a company that supports all customers, regardless of who they sleep with.

This scrap yard is okay. Some of their prices are good, others are not competitive. Shred prices and the time it takes to get in and out is quick. Their process for anything but shred is not very smooth, definitely slower than going to Top Price, who also pays better on almost everything. Update: I have to lower this a bit. It's irritating that they will close before their posted hours, and their phones, they just hung up on me when it rang and rang one day they decided to be closed due to the weather. It's clear they just don't care.

I read so many bad reviews on this place I had to go see for myself and oh my God it was one of the worst places I've ever been the people will straight up lie to you on the phone and act like you don't know what you're talking about regardless of you've been doing it for 20 years there are scales are not calibrated right I pre weighed before I went in there on a recently calibrated scale that was dead on down to the milligram and on a little more than 230 lb load of copper the scale was off by 35 lb don't trust these people they're crooks they will rip you off and make it seem like it's your fault needless to say I took my stuff and left and went elsewhere where there are a lot more professional and don't try these trivial and obvious scam techniques. update mickey coffino thought it was a great idea to contact me on my personal social media accounts to try and argue their case and was told that they tried that unscrupulous and rude tactic again I will be pressing charges for harassment while also filing litigation against them for that I have a tremendous amount of reports to the BBB for those who don't know it's the better Business bureau for scams unfair treatment towards customers their scales being off lying about pricing and changing pricing whenever they feel like it to meet their needs among many other things and like I said earlier I don't see them being in business much longer

At first I thought these people were okay until today I got here at 12:54 and they toldme they will not accept me they were closed but a Spanish lady came right after me and they open the gate for her to do her copper and that's all I had was a couple of pipes it was no more than 2 minutes fair is fair and they did not play fare it all today if you say you close then okay but don't let someone come in after me but don't accept me

If I could give them 0 stars I would! The BBB will be getting a report about these people. My boyfriend and his brother took copper wire (already stripped) up there . They lied and said that we had less than 100 lbs of copper wire, when it took all 3 of us to carry the wire inside the car. It doesn’t take 3 people to lift 100 pounds of anything. My boyfriend squats 500 lbs by himself so the weight was the first lie. Then they pay $300 for over 100 lbs stripped copper wire. We then say no we want the wire back we’ll go somewhere else, they say no you’ve already given us the wire so there’s no way to separate what you sold from the rest of the wire. That’s another lie because if you know how much we had (less than 100 lbs so they say) why wouldn’t you be able to weigh out our copper and give it back and take you $300 back. This place is a scam and I’ve sent a copy of this to the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU! I’ve gotten $300 for less wire that hasn’t been stripped . This was 4 full rolls over 200 lbs of copper wire and all we get is $300. They’re scamming people here & assuming people don’t know what they’re doing. But if I spend 6 hours stripping 1000s of feet of copper wire, I know I’m supposed to walk away with more than $300. I’ll be calling in the morning as well.

Update: They advertised some great prices, so I gave them another try. The new people are even more dishonest than the old crew. Totally and blatantly tried to rip me off, so I took my material to CMC Recycling around the corner. If you do end up here, weigh all your stuff in advance and know your material grades very well. Always ask them what type of material and grade BEFORE they take it from you and ALWAYS check your ticket before they dump your materials. I was patient, polite, and professional, but they even resorted to threats when I said no thanks. I won't be back after this time, so you've been warned. Best of luck friends. Update: The last two disappointing experiences have eclipsed my previous positive experiences and have me looking elsewhere again. Called and asked if they buy 400-series stainless steel. Got a yes over the phone and reasonable pricing info, but when I get there I was surprised that they only gave me the price for shred, "because this is magnetic." 400 series stainless IS magnetic due to the alloy's composition. The time before that they downgraded my #1 wire to #2 wire despite getting #1 pricing for the same wire types previously. I don't bring in enough scrap to worry much about the money, but I also don't like feeling grimy about selling experience either. Dropping 2 stars, one for each bad experience. Original Review: I gave every yard in the area at least one chance, but this is the one I keep coming back to. Prices are usually fair and it's one of only two yards that have great employees.

This place screwed me out of some $$ on a small load of mixed copper wire. Spaghetti and communication wire mostly. They gave me only .32/lb for some fire alarm wire when some of my friends with the same exact wire got $1.00/lb at other scrap yards in Charlotte. Not to mention, there was an employee there that was telling me how he was going to get me the best price, but only wanted me to think that so I would buy him a soda. I'm sure he expected more than that. I would definitely stay away from this place!!!

No consideration for their “customers”. I came with 4 bare aluminum garage panels at 4:21pm and did not care how much I got per pound, just something. The older white male told me to come back in the morning. I called earlier and they said they CLOSE at 4:30pm. He said I could dump it there but I wanted to pay the guy that brought it. These are some crooks that will try to lie to you about prices of metal or just try to find a way to take your metal for free. This place is full of crooks with a bad agenda and I would NOT RECOMMEND! I went to another location (Wise Recyling on Brookshire) and they were very honest about prices and I got there, unloaded and sold with same prices as when I called with no issues.

Today I dropped off 1300 pounds of steel. These jokers offered me $100. Not only that, the guy at the window acted like he was a mute. If you want to give your scrap away. Then these are the people you want. Thanks for reading. Q
- mmark parish
They screwed me on the price of my 164lb electric motor. The price they paid me for was a mixed motor not electric motor. The price difference is .11 per pound. Leaving me out 18.04 it might not sound like a lot to some but business is business. You screwed me so in retaliation you get a bad review. I'm guessing having a good reputation isn't something this company is interested in.

Great staff and prices!!! Highly recommend!

Your trucks travel Highway 218 through Union county. They should slow down. Today I was pushed down the road by one of your drivers. I took photos of the truck and truck number. You should really press the need for safe driving.
- MMason Marino
Paid shred price for clean chromoly steel chunks and didnt even pay my guy after they took the bronze we dropped off as well. Stay away.
- BBrian Kraus
I have been scrapping my whole life , this place pays more then most yards and everyone is so nice and looks out and the fact they help X inmates is an extra bonus for me to support them people make mistakes and u would never be able to tell the person taking care of u has been to prison, I got a second chance and I’m glad to know a company is giving second chances , they will always get my business , I used to go to another scrap yard and they would pay me half what this place does !! Wish there was more businesses like this out there !! Thank you
- JJeremy Rushing
Very bad attitude Also asked price they never said until metal was unloaded then got paid 21$ measily dollars for 700 lbs steal I'll never come back this place is a joke they are crooks I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone ever not to mention they looked terrible as a whole
- BBrian Crump
Great guys and competitive prices. Only drawback is when I was there it had just rained and it was thick sloppy mud everywhere you stepped. Dont wear the jordans!
- SSean Mangan

Queen city has always been fair with their prices on metal. The staff is very helpful with directions and they help me unload when I bring a ton or so of brake rotors. Mike
- EExavier Mitchelle
Went to several scrap yards to price aluminum cans this place is $0.10 a pound all the others are . 47 or more. Wow I believe they are getting over on people. And the national marketplace price is 57 / pound in North Carolina Charlotte

- jjohn teates
Great! Scales are accurate. I pre-weighed my copper and aluminum and their scales were spot on. Staff helpful. Thank you.
- HHarol Sarmiento
This the worst place in town to sale scrap. They pay for different and cheaper material than the one you are selling. Employees are rude. Don’t you ever go there.
- TThaddeus Mcfadden
