Best place to take your metal and aluminum scrap.always has the best price. And the yard is cleaner then anywhere else, so not having to worry about catching a punctured tire. Micah always happy to help and a Afghanistan vet to boot. Even if he's army. Has good time ribbing us Marines. Pleasure to do business with them. 👍🇺🇲

Cleaning up my dad's property who passed away over the winter had a 5x8 trailer and had 980 pounds of "tin and appliances " in the trailer not even half full I must be magic because I sorted the metal my self and it was 99 % steel so they straight up ripped me off will not go back.

Quick, Knowledgeable, and Courteous. These guys really know their stuff, and were readily able to answer all of my questions. Came in just before closing and they were still more than happy to help. I did not feel rushed at all, but they still got me in and out of there quickly. Definitely recommend this place to anyone.

I was so impressed with how I was treated and how organized this recycling center is that I had to tell the manager how happy and impressed that i was. Of all the recycling centers that I have been in, this place by far has been the best ever. On a scale of 1 < 10, they rate a 20. I felt like a VIP and they made sure that I got the most for the different types of metal I brought by helping me sift through the different metals. Thank you guys so much for being so kind and efficient. Very Happy Customer Rick Frandin

The staff was very helpful and kind. From telling me what to do, where to go in the yard and helping me unload my trailer. Also them being open on Saturdays is AWESOME!!!!!! I drove from Caldwell. So I could properly get rid of my stuff and not send it to the land fill.

Just wanted to give a quick shout-out out to this awesome local business. I do customer service for Junk Holler, and we use these guys multiple times a week. They are easy to deal with, and best of all, save us dump fees and help keep Idaho green by recycling. Can't go wrong with United Metal!
- FForrest Throckmorton
Outstanding!!! Didn't even make it past the initial bay door to go towards the office and I was already greeted by an employee asking how he could help me. Everyone on staff I encountered was above and beyond courteous and willing to help. Fast, friendly, efficient, and great return on your salvage. Thanks!
- GGrey Hooves
It says they're open today, and closed tomorrow for the 4th of july, but they're closed right now. The hours say they're open today until 5, but apparently they're taking today off as well. That would have been nice to know before I took the time to drive there, but they don't have anything saying that they'd be closed today.

In the last few years I have gone with United Metals exclusively, three to four times a month, with all my scrap. I've done business with nearly all of the other yards in Boise and I won't go anywhere else. Prices are the best in town, the guys really know the business and are always efficient and helpful. They go out of their way to make each visit a positive experience. They once came to my rescue with a can of gas after I sputtered to a stop out in the yard. (Thanks again!) I can't think of even one negative thing to say about United Metals. I look forward to working with them in the future and would recommend them to anyone looking to do a scrap of recycling.

Our company, Ridge Industrial Salvage, contracted United Metals for recycling on a large demolition project (Fortune 500 Company facility). We could not be more pleased with United Metals professionalism, superior pricing, and outstanding trucking service. We are a national industrial contractor and have never experienced pricing or service as exceptional as we got from United Metals! Whether you have small quantaties of metal to deliver to their yard or hundreds of tons to be trucked and processed (contact Nick Snyder) you will be amazed by their pricing and service. Great job guys!!

Clean facility, fast service, very friendly staff. A guy came out and greeted me at my car before I'd even parked (reminded me of Les Schwab). I wasn't sure what kind of metal I had but he took a look at it and figured out what it was for me and assured me that they buy any and all kinds of metal. The facility as a whole was surprisingly clean & orderly. The staff was super friendly. If you're looking for a place to get a few bucks for your recycled metal, go here. (In contrast, before going to United Metals I had actually stopped at another center -- Western Recycling. The place was a dump, I sat at the front desk for 5 minutes before anyone came over to help, then when I didn't know what kind of metal I had they told me just to dump it into one of their donation bins without offering to come take a look at it first....meaning they weren't going to pay me anything for it. My experience between that place and United Metals was night and day.)

I am very pleased with how they treat haulers i run a hauling company and they treat me very well and help me unload and they are very respectful
- AAaron Abbott
They are courteous, friendly, and helpful. They understand who keeps them in business. Even though they are a little out of the way, I don't mind because they are awesome and respectful. I have been to other places who treated me with complete disrespect as if they couldn't be bothered with work for the day and of the attitude of, "How dare you bring us scrap metal?" United treated me as a human. This is the most important thing to me.
- JJason Barnicoat
My office contacted United Metals inquiring about picking up some tin from a job site in Boise. We were quote one price and what they paid after we badgered them for 2 months was 70% less than what the had quoted us on the phone. An absolute con! We'll never do business with them again.
- HHammad Khan
I came here for a pick up and they took 2 and a half to load me. There were metal and nails all over the place because of which I had 2 flat tires on my trailers.
- EEileen Dotson
Incredibly friendly service from the guys working there! It was our first time recycling copper and they helped us through the whole process. We will most definitely come back with more. (Bonus- they’re open on Saturdays!)
- MMick Thomas
These folks are honest, hardworking, and humble at every level. At some point leadership instilled in them the desire to serve the customer and help where ever they can. It really shows. I've been working in industry for quite a while, and the "normal" attitude of folks at other places is "I've earned the right to treat you with contempt". UMR folks are the total opposite. You can drive up with what ever aluminum or metal you have and they will help you out immediately and give you cash! I recycled some aluminum rims that were good, but just so ugly i needed them gone. Also dropped off a blown Subaru engine. These folks weighed them and gave me cash. I'll use them from now on. Gather your metal junk and go to them as well.

Had a bunch of scrap metal from re-roofing my house like old gutters, trim, plus old cast iron pipes, car parts, etc. They were very friendly and helped me offload it from my truck. I didn't ask for any recycle money. They saved me the charge and time the landfill would have charged me.
- TTifani Henderson
We work with United Metals weekly. They are extremely customer service oriented!! They are always prompt, courteous, and eager to help us. We love doing business with them! Call them first for all of your scrap metal needs!!
- BBrett Baldwin

I have been in the demolition industry in Idaho for more than twenty five years and have done business with most of the recycling/salvage yards at one point or another in my career. The Boise United Metals crew is top shelf, from the guys in the yard that help unload and sort to the guys in the office. Everyone is friendly, professional and ready to help.

This place is great ,when I pulled up I was greeted by employees ,after I told them it was my first time coming to there facility they pointed out the office and made sure I found it . I can't remember the name of the employee in the office .but I could tell he was busy and he dropped everything to help me He explained the process to me in detail ,didn't act as if I was wasting his time or that he thought I was a criminal ( cuz scrapping can be like that with metals ice heard ) I went out drove my truck to the Pile and the employee there was very friendly and gave me direction and then I went back to scales and they paid me . Some ppl think they don't pay much more, scrap yards in General, but it's better than the landfill where u have to pay for it . I thought this was a great experience and I will be back this place needs to be advertised more inside the nBoise Nampa mmMeridian area . I visited there August 7 2018 Thank United Metals Jesse Spencer

Took a freezer down, and got a whole buck. Yep, one dollar. Ask the guy at the desk if he knew what was in there... he looked a bit clueless. The website said 2 dollars a pound for copper... I asked him about the aluminum cooler.... 6+ pounds. He said it's probably not pure... That's when I had to tell him, yep it's pure I stripped it before I came, A friend said you all will try to rip me off! Thanks for the dollar though! Definitely going to try another yard.
- MMr. Cory
Brought in 11 pounds of aluminum and received a whopping 3 penny's. Was not even worth my time or gas it took to drive there. Updated 03/28: Talked to Nick today and we were able to come to an agreement for the rest of my payment for the aluminum. Thanks guys.
- PPatricia Santa Cruz
Hands down the best place to take your metal for recycle in Boise. The staff is easy to work with and make the whole process smooth and the payout price is good. Highly recommend!!
- CCassidy Mylander
I own a local seamless gutter company and I take all of my metal scraps to these guys. They are personable, fast and pay the most per pound. I wouldn't go anywhere else!
